(He is deep within one of the adjoining caverns, holding a lamp aloft. It's totally understandable if you have never seen anything quite like it. He is a crafty Elf.)

No one seems to have a thirst for mining ore. Is it an uncommon practice in other worlds?

(He sets down the lamp and lifts up a pick-axe, bringing it against the rock wall in a precise manner. The stone gives away, cracking and revealing something that...shimmers...underneath. He runs his hand over it, curious.)

Some call this a hellish land - and perhaps that is so - but we are within this planet's womb. I should like to see what treasures can be unveiled.

Is it that obvious? (He hums a little song he learned from them.)

Did your Narvi teach you that song?

He did! (He smiles brightly at the memory, chipping - carefully - around the new material.) The Doors were not made overnight.

I would think not! I would be hesitant to trust anything that was put together so quickly!

Those doors you can trust, I assure you! (He picks up a piece of the debris and brings it into the light.) I thought Narvi and I were rather clever with them.

So I hear! Was it more Narvi's work, or yours?

The spells were more my doing. (Because Elves.)

This... [He shifts the lamp towards the shiny stone. It almost looks opalescent in quality and is that...a faint glow?] I am taking as many samples as I can carry!

I thought they might have been. And the carving Narvi's eh? Who decided to call it Moria on the door?

[handofsilver]

Yes - for the most part. (He flushes and ducks his head.) I did. Black chasm seemed fitting, don't you think?

[bythewaves]

It does now, yes! But did not Narvi find it insulting?

[handofsilver]

I did not tell him the meaning of it. [He mutters, grinning mischievously.]

I would not have thought one could find such a lovely thing in Hadriel.

It took some digging - like much else in our new home. (Everything good takes effort. They should know that lesson by now.)

I asked! He said he didn't know it. (But Narvi could've been lying. He considers that fact and then...chuckles.) He let it stay regardless!

You bring up a good point. (One he has been avoiding as much as possible.) I can take care of myself - or at least fight my way free.

I want to see how hard they are and their durability over time. I also wonder over their hue if they were polished.

(He might be making new pretty things if they don't turn out to be useful in other ways.)

It has a nice ring to it, at least. Moria. (Because that's all that matters, right?)
