As backwards as this place is, at least you're not using coin. That kind of economy never made a lot of sense to me. You don't even really seem like you're bartering at all! That's more than a little strange.

However, since that's the case, I really don't see what the point is in working for an organization like the clinic. Why would I want to go work for someone else when I've been doing just fine on my own for years? Where I'm from, I'm one of just two menders, and I've had plenty of practice.

Has anyone from your great clinic recreated half a brain before? I doubt it. I have. So feel free to stop by the better healer whenever you like. I'm usually around the library trying to find something that isn't garbage, if you've, I don't know, got your fingers chewed off, or something.

I'm pretty sure the whole clinic thing is so it's organized and people know where to go for help, not to like, work for someone.

It's a little ridiculous that you have someone that can raise the dead, but the library is filled with nonsense. One of those sounds a lot easier than the other to fix. No points for guessing which.

The parts that deserve it are probably not the parts you can actually burn, so...

Has anyone tried to get better books, or is that something I'm going to have to do? These are seriously useless.

It's uh... The gods sometimes give out their blessings, which all do different things. Hope's is for healing.

I don't think anyone's asked him, so if you're really set on getting books that are actually readable it's definitely worth a shot.

Yeah, besides Hope there's Fear, Rage, Delight, and Sorrow. It was just Hope and Fear when I first got here, but Hope's been bringing the others back over time.

Uh, sort of. There's no real um, consensus here, and some people hate all of them or don't like Fear and Sorrow but think Rage is cool, or whatever.

And uh, it's also weird because like, if you separate how they act from the sort of events they pull they can be really different. Like, Fear's events are some of the worst, but he's actually pretty okay to talk to and answers questions and stuff like that. It's... Weird.

Well um, as far as Hope explained it can heal any injury or illness as long as the person isn't already dead, though I'm guessing that uh, there are some limits for weird conditions and magic stuff.

Probably. Magic tends to be tricky and picky.

Magic is so not a thing where I'm from, so all I know about it's from here.
