Shit. All right. This is Inquisitor Trevelyan, and... long story short, there are these... tears, in the air, which must have just appeared, as I've not seen them in Hadriel yet. Thing is, they're from my world, and it's really not good to have them hanging around like this. I've gone to close one, but [ but when she did, a dozen more opened ] there's more than one out there. Dangerous things, dropping demons around, so stay away from it all until I've got them shut again.

[ Remember the exploding hand? That's the one that has both caused this problem and will (hopefully) fix it. The hand in question is shown briefly on screen, the sliver of green pulsing to match the rift behind her. ]

In case it wasn't painfully clear, demons are demonic and should be avoided. Killed, really, if you've the ability. Don't listen to them, don't... talk to them, don't make any stupid blighted deals. They're demons, not - nugs?

[ She does a double-take; off-screen, one such nug goes scurrying by. ]

Andraste's tits, has Thedas just gone and vomited all its things through the Door? [ Not good, not good at all. ] Right, avoid the demons, stay away from the rifts - that's it.

They pour out from the Fade. It's... the world of spirits.

[ Who then become demons. ]

And going through 'em would be...bad, I'm assuming?

You don't want to be stuck in the Fade; trust me. I speak from experience.

[ Seriously. Fuck that place. ]

If it's even possible at the moment for us to pass through them...

I'm just sayin', some people might be awful eager to leave this place. Even if it comes at the expense of, uh...everything.

[Sans, at least, ain't one of those people. He just knows a few that'd probably see fit to chance it.]

Leaving here and going into there is not a good trade-off. It was full of literal nightmares last we went, but constantly, without the... admittedly limited charms of this city.

[ She understands the point, though. ]

If you can warn anyone against it, please do. They may never be able to come back out again.

[He knows at least two kids who might get the baller idea to stray too near to one of those things. Because they can, and so they have to, right? He ain't really sure how much their sense of self-preservation will weigh against their sense of curiosity.]

Not really. [ A pause, then an adjustment: ] Not for us. They belong there, the spirits, but we don't. Just as we belong here and they don't.

[ Hence the chaos, or so Cole had said. ]

[Somethin' about physiology, maybe. Or an afterlife of some kind? Heh, yeah, that's a laugh. The only afterlife Sans knows of is this one right here, and this don't even really count.]

So wouldn't all of 'em just fade away after bein' here for a while?

Unfortunately, no. It's more likely that some of our fellow residents will make deals with them and become possessed, which will only help the demons thrive.

[ She can see some of the appeal in making an exchange like that, but, man. It'll make getting rid of the things all the more difficult. ]

So the longer they stick around, the worse it'll get. Gotcha.

[Not like a guy like him can do a whole lot to prevent that, but at the very least he can keep people from jumpin' on through the rifts presented to them or cuttin' deals with demons.]

Exactly. [ He seems smart enough; she assumes he'll be keeping safe, if not trying to keep demons from getting to the people he cares about. ]

[Mostly for the sake of a couple human kids he's finally tryin' to keep an eyesocket on proper. Whether or not he's succeeding is kinda another question entirely.]
