Hey! Um... so, I don't know how many of you know Emily - she's been here for a while, so maybe a lot of you. Anyway, next month is supposed to be, like... her coming of age ceremony? If she were back home. Since she's not, I talked to her about having it here. Just the party, I mean; I don't know what goes with the ceremony. Like I said, we talked about it, so it's not a total surprise, but... I thought it'd be cool to have a lot of her friends there to celebrate. That part could be a surprise.

[ Hannah pauses, chewing on her lip thoughtfully. ]

I probably need some help planning this? [ Since her last planned party had been Not Great?? ] If anyone is good at that kind of stuff... And, please don't tell her! It'll be so much better if she doesn't know.

Oh - I haven't picked out a date yet; depends on when most people are free. Let me know!

I've talked to her about the ceremony, and having it here. It probably wouldn't be suspicious if I asked a few more questions, I'm sure.

That'd be perfect! [ Hannah brightens at the offer. ] Are you sure you don't mind?

Not at all. She seemed to like talking about home -- about something normal, and I'm curious anyway.

She does. [ Hannah thinks. ] I'm sure she'd love to tell everyone about the real ceremony, too.

[wendigoner]

Mm-hmm. [ She nods. ] It's a Japanese tradition, I think. I mean, that's what she said. It sounds really important, like a rite of passage.

[wendigoner]

I'm... not totally sure? But - it's okay, because we're not doing the traditional part. Just the party.

[ Em had seemed excited enough about that as a prospect without the ceremony even being involved. ]

I'm ah. Admittedly not all that sure what goes into a human ceremony like this... [as she can no doubt gather from the massive, armor-clad alien looming so large in the video feed it's impossible to see all of him--] ... but I would... like to be involved. If that's alright..?

Sure! [ She doesn't know Glacius herself, but she's heard about him, knows that Emily is close with him (him?). ] I don't know a ton about it myself, but it's... more or less the thought that counts, right? She'll be so psyched to see all her friends there for this.

[Glacius is heartened by that bright and immediate of a response; he'd had his usual fears, unsure if Hannah would be afraid of him because of how alien he is, or if she'd be mad because of what he was forced to do to Emily when she was possessed. That she's so ready to be inclusive does a lot of good for the alien. Rising from his uncertainty, he straightens up, trying to look as proud and presentable as possible.] I-- I suppose. But still... if there's anything I should do or bring... do let me know?

[ Honestly? Hannah is half-convinced she's still in a long, weird dream, and... the other part is that she's soon so many other non-humans thus far that this very polite one is only somewhat startling. ]

Will do. I still need to plan most of it, but I just wanted to let people know ahead of time in case they have, um... other stuff going on.

Well, it won't be the actual ceremony. That's something we can't really do, because, um... it involves her parents and government officials. This is just the after party.
