[Alright. This has gone on long enough. As in, a day or two. It's just very, very annoying, obviously. Near at least still has enough presence of mind not to use video, but he's rather sure too much of the venom would be lost with text, so here we are.]

So. [His voice is cold and petulant.] Lovely time we're all having, isn't it? I understand; the idiots causing all this chaos are annoying, but what's even worse is all the conciliatory bullshit in trying to get them to stop. I am more sick of that than anything our more volatile types are up to. Just let them get the damn nonsense out of their systems. It ought to only be a few days. That is how things work around here, after all.

And if anyone wants to comment on how I am currently behaving, save it. I'm a far sight more controlled than most of the population.

This is the most asinine bullshit I've heard yet. Pointless, too.

Oh, I don't know. Feels better to get it out. [Actually, it's not doing a damn thing.] And not be destructive about it, but that's just me. Not that I care what the mobs wind up destroying.

Then why not just make yourself seem crazy and just talk to yourself. No one cares about what you think.

It's far less interesting than talking to other people. [He is. Remarkably cool about all these insults being tossed his way for a guy that was so pissy a second ago.] Even if the conversation so far is lacking.

[Yukari applauds Near in a slow, yet amused manner.]

Tell them how it's done~! People have no need for interfering with other people's chaos.

[Yukari's temper trigger is sleep. He's just advocating this for the lulz.]

[Near rolls his eyes, even though he can't be seen, at the clapping. Ridiculous. But whatever.]

It's not so much that I approve of the chaos; the efforts to stop it are merely far more irritating. [Basically, everyone on both sides of the situation is a moron, so far as he's concerned.]

[Yukari gives one of his amused, yet somehow emotionless, smiles.]

I only mean, who do people think they are when they tell someone to calm down? Or even worse, try to get in the middle of their fight before it comes to war. Those people need to mind their own business, right?

[His jaw clenches at the phrase "calm down". The diminutive suffix doesn't help, either.

[Hence his voice manages to get even chillier, somehow.] It's unproductive at best, and more likely than not, it's obviously counter-intuitive. [Or it just seems that way because calming gestures do nothing except piss him off right now.]

[Ooh, he loves the new ice in Near's tone. He hit a nerve, he's sure. Now to play on it.]

Although... [Yukari puts a hand to his chin in thought, glazing on a slightly soothing tone.] Perhaps you might be overreacting just a tad... I mean, buildings are being blown up, too.

[Which he's guilty of in aiding. Don't let him fool you.]

Think of the people. What about their lives?

[If his observational skills mean anything, he's pretty certain this will send Mystery-chan into a fit.]

[He recognizes the flattery and it's vaguely irritating. Like it's an attempt to mollify him and he really does not need that right now. Any other time, he would brush it off completely, but this time it bothers him, just a bit, because of the implication he sees behind it.

[And he rolls his eyes at the rest of that, even if it can't be seen. Though his voice is still cold and biting.] People don't even listen when you tell them that shit anyway. A complete waste of time that I have absolutely no intention of busying myself with. [As if this isn't a waste of time, too.]

Really? I find that people tend to listen quite alot.

[Mostly because people tend to be subservient dogs waiting for a master to tell them what to do. But he's not about to say that out loud. That would alter the tone of this conversation entirely and would be counterproductive to Yukari's trolling at this moment.

Nevermind that the people are especially prone to not listening at the present moment because of Rage.]

A gentle boost and guidance from someone who knows what they're doing goes a very long way. Surely, you must know better than most, if not all, of us.

[Mello just stops for a moment once he reaches Near's broadcast and drags his hand down his face. Then, he sighs loudly and makes his reply:]

Or you could stop and consider things beyond the first impulsive thought that enters your mind.

[Said dryly, with no real venom - but a reminder of what Near's said to him on more than one occasion all the same.]

Yeah, well, between the two of us, I happen to be the one who's unaffected by the current round of bullshit, so I guess that means it's up to me to say something.

Did you fail to notice the part where I said that commentary on my own behaviour isn't needed? [There is a tiny bit of emphasis on the word "fail", because he knows it will bother Mello. This is clearly going very well.]

[Mello's jaw goes taut as he takes a series of deep breaths to calm the rising irritating over that magic word. Fortunately, he's fully aware of what Near's game is in using that particular phrasing. Yes, it bothers him, but he can tamp down his anger for the sake of not letting on that it bothers him. Mostly.]

It's not really about need, Near. And anyway, I doubt you're the most objective judge of that at the moment.

If it isn't about need, then what is it about? And you are hardly one to scold me about objectivity. [He is the objective one, okay? The current situation absolutely does not change that. Why would it?]
