[Lance is looking a little more awake than he has been the past two weeks or so, and also in a better mood; his expression and tone are both lighter as well when he addresses the camera.]

I guess everyone is working on solving mysteries at the moment, and I actually had something I'd been meaning to ask for a little while, so this seems like a good a time as any; I'm interested anything anyone is willing to tell me about their experiences regarding being skipped over during an event. Or, similarly, if anyone was affected by one and it didn't last the entire time; I know several people began to see through the latest one while it was still going on.

[Including himself, though he doesn't know if that's something that happens often or it was kind of a special case. He does know, though, that people sometimes get skipped over completely, and why that happens seems like a mystery worth looking into.

And, for a completely different subject--]

I also wanted to ask about how someone would go about getting more bullets, because I know they aren't stocked at the armoury. I'm not out yet, but I'd prefer to solve this issue before I am.

[Thinking ahead, and whatever. He'd had to use a lot more than expected during new arrival day this month.]

I heard something about a deal with Rage, but that doesn't seem to be an option right now, so I was hoping someone else might have an idea or be willing to trade for something.

Sounds like a plan, then. Good. I need something to keep busy around here anyway. To be honest, I haven't been sure what to do with myself since arriving.

I... I won't deny that it can be incredibly difficult but I was a lucky child to have a father and a mother who knew what I saw and heard was real. I eventually learned how to use my gift to help others. I can rid people of darkness, of Malice. I can cleanse a home of spirits. I can find people where others cannot. I've come to embrace it because no matter how much I hurt, if I can help someone else with my skill, then I can be happy with it.

Yeah, I guess that makes sense. You use something daily like that for a hundred and fifty years, my body was probably just about to pop off from not using magic that whole week. Lighting Taako on fire was probably one of the tamer things that could have happened.

It took me awhile after I got here to figure out what to do, too. Have you thought about getting involved with any of the organizations here?

Definitely not one with singing. I'd have been one of the delusional people you see on the audition rounds.

It was kind of a Survivor rip-off. Strategy, challenges, get people to like you. I didn't win, but I did well enough to an agent, and then I got my own show. Things went from there.

[He means that; he wishes this issue weren't so complicated, but if it comes down to it he'll probably risk asking Curufin anyway.]

Oh, that sounds interesting. I watched a lot of survivor in college when it first came out, but I can't imagine actually being on it.

[Sounded like a ton of drama and a lot of swimming, neither of which he's super into actually participating in. And okay, he's realizing maybe he was a little more into reality shows than he previously thought, although to be fair none of that was recent.]

Sounds like it really worked out for you though; you got your own show? What about?

[The piece of paper hits Lance harmlessly in the face, and he blinks down at it for a moment after it falls on the floor before looking back up at Rosen; his response is utterly grave and deadpan.]

[Aka you're in trouble the moment he finds something non-dangerous to launch in return, and he immediately disappears from the doorway in search of such an item.]

[Most people wouldn't want to. Forget the hardships—Elena doesn't want to remember the producers. Shudder.]

It was called Uncharted—kind of a history/archeology/travel thing. Didn't have the biggest budget, but it was on a premium cable network so we had some cachet.

I'm not going to argue with you on your idea of fun, although I can't say I agree.

Do you mean hunting in the caves? I'm not totally sure, but I think Curufin and Ikaruga do so and so asking one of them is a good start. For assisting the Guard, Henry would be best to ask about coordinating with them.

[He's torn between feeling pleased by understanding correctly, being amused at how casually she keeps referring to lighting her brother on fire, and one other specific thing she mentioned--]

You've been using magic for a hundred and fifty years?

[He's super curious about that; not just the magic part, but the living a hundred and fifty years thing.]

Wouldn't be the first time I had a run in with the Feds.

[Rosen smirks impishly as he takes up another ball of paper and pursues Lance into the next room, getting him in the ear on the next shot. He then ducks for cover behind a chair in preparation for Sweets' retaliation.]

[Hey, it was pretty funny. Kind of her highlight of the event.]

Yep, about that, give or take a decade or two. [Once you hit elf adulthood at one hundred, the years kind of blur together.] We started learning pretty young.

That's actually pretty cool though. Did you get to visit some interesting places?

[He imagines Daisy would've loved a show like this.]

Yeah! A lot of them were populated in the modern age, but we tried to find sites off the beaten path. I spent some time in Europe, a lot in Central America—for one episode, we went to a lost settlement in Panama, but it never aired.

That's a really commendable attitude and way to look at things, but taking care of yourself is important too.

[He feels like it's important to mention that, especially considering her last statement.]

I'm kind of jealous. Why didn't the one about the lost settlement air?

Do you live a long time? A normal life span for people where I'm from is about eighty years, sometimes a hundred or a little more.

[But she may not--and probably isn't--human, and even if she were, that doesn't mean life spans are the same across different universes.]

My camera smashed on the rocks when we were crossing an old rope-and-board bridge and it broke. Which really made me mad, but it was better than smashing with it.

[That's so young; he's still pretty young himself, all things considered, but even he's got a decade on her. It's not like he's unaware that people can die young--he sees it all the time in his job--but it's still always sort of a shock when he stops to really think about it.]

If you ever wanted to speak to someone professionally, my primary role at the FBI is actually as a psychologist.

[And considering he knows firsthand at least some of how she's feeling, he wants to help even more than he already would have. This isn't something she should be dealing with along.]

I wasn't completely sure at first, but yes.

[He'd wavered a little on what particular field to choose, and considered briefly going to med school, but did indeed select his major very quickly; he'd only spent two years getting his undergraduate degree, so he really hadn't had time to waste.

But the way she says it makes him wonder--]

[Growing up on the streets with her brother means that she doesn't have like, a rich family history to relate that back to, but it's fairly common information where she's from. Elves live seven times as long as humans, about twice as long as dwarves.]

Humans have the same lifespan where I'm from, which is just weird. [she does not want to think of her human boyfriend getting old and dying while she stays youthful for centuries, thank you very much] Elves aren't even considered adults until humans are, uh, already done with their lives. Fucked up.

[Rude; he darts into the kitchen to find the ammunition he's just remembered, loading a very ugly orange-brown marshmallow-like thing from a package he'd found, taking aim... And Rosen's hiding behind a chair. Coward.

Lance ducks down, finding a clear line of sight under the legs of the chair, and fires; considering his practice with shooting rubber bands, he's quite good with the slingshot.]
