[Lance is looking a little more awake than he has been the past two weeks or so, and also in a better mood; his expression and tone are both lighter as well when he addresses the camera.]

I guess everyone is working on solving mysteries at the moment, and I actually had something I'd been meaning to ask for a little while, so this seems like a good a time as any; I'm interested anything anyone is willing to tell me about their experiences regarding being skipped over during an event. Or, similarly, if anyone was affected by one and it didn't last the entire time; I know several people began to see through the latest one while it was still going on.

[Including himself, though he doesn't know if that's something that happens often or it was kind of a special case. He does know, though, that people sometimes get skipped over completely, and why that happens seems like a mystery worth looking into.

And, for a completely different subject--]

I also wanted to ask about how someone would go about getting more bullets, because I know they aren't stocked at the armoury. I'm not out yet, but I'd prefer to solve this issue before I am.

[Thinking ahead, and whatever. He'd had to use a lot more than expected during new arrival day this month.]

I heard something about a deal with Rage, but that doesn't seem to be an option right now, so I was hoping someone else might have an idea or be willing to trade for something.

Oh, the usual. I think I missed out on some of the fun recently, judging from the network.

They're made of metal, are they not? Perhaps Curufin or Celebrimbor could fashion substitutes.

They are. That might be possible; if I can't figure out a simpler method I'll ask Curufin about it, thank you.

[He's hesitant to have them made from scratch for a few different reasons, but it is better than nothing.]

That depends what you're considering fun, but yes. There's been a lot of activity lately.

[Though if Sato wants to stay out of it and--hopefully--distracted by video games, no complaints here.]

You could try a weapon without bullets. Then you don't run out.

I'd like to learn to use one, and actually I have someone I need to contact about that, but I don't want to be useless in the meantime while I'm learning.

[Also he's a little scared of having to get close to monsters, even assuming he'll ever be decent at using another weapon.]

That makes sense until you run out of bullets. But I guess you are working on fixing that.

I'm hoping to avoid that, yes; since I've only been needing to use them when monsters arrive in the arena, I should hopefully have a month to solve this problem.

[Also he still has several left, but considering how many he went through with the steampunk crabs he's nervous about whether they'd be enough. And that's assuming monster arrivals are the only problem, not an event or something else.

But on a less weaponry-oriented note--]

That's...probably not long enough to get very good at anything else. You'd better figure something out quick.

[She's just being honest that time. Totally a downer, but honest.]

[Nothing that requires shooting anything, anyway. He really doesn't even like killing monsters, but considering that the choice there is to either do so or let them eat innocent people he can justify it; any other situation, especially an event, he really doesn't want to deal with.]

It's pretty much the same answer for me.

I'm mostly trying to get some things done while there's nothing else going on.

Yeah. I mean I guess there's time for practice, at least. [A whole lot of time. And she is really not used to not being busy.]

"Some things?" Can I ask or is it covered by doctor-patient confidentiality?

You needn't thank me; if the process is tricky, they would probably enjoy the challenge.

But you may want to consider acquiring a backup weapon as well, just in case. Best to be prepared.

What exactly are these...events? I've heard about some things, but a lot of it's vague mentions that no one seems to want to go into detail on.

The metal casting portion wouldn't be too difficult, I think.

[It's the gunpowder part that's more the issue, although Lance does know how to make black powder and that'll work in an emergency; it'll ruin his gun after awhile though, and he doesn't want that if he can help it.]

I was offered swordfighting lessons, actually; I need to take the person who offered up on it. But I have a feeling it would take a long time to get really good at.

[So having his main weapon is important, still.]

'Event' is just sort of the name some people use for when the gods do something purposefully to gain energy from us, by making us feel whatever emotion they want. There's actually a list of a lot of the past ones, let me find it...

I haven't been here for that many of them; the first one I was around for was the 29th entry on that list.

Actually, aside from checking in on a few people none of it really has to do with counseling.

[So no, not a problem of doctor-patient confidentiality, just that his life here is kind of a mess and he doesn't necessarily want to go into it. But there are some things he's willing to mention, at least.]

A lot of it's pretty boring, like making sure there's food in my apartment, finding another jacket to replace the one I lost in the arena, making this post, that sort of thing.

But there are other components?

[Curufin does have some kind of explosives. Or at least he did a few months ago.]

Swordplay does take time, but there are a few other options. A knife would be useful anywhere, and pole-arms are fairly easy to pick up.

That's...a pretty mundane list. [For a place like this, that's impressive.]

I don't know whether to say "I'm sorry" or "good job."

Yes, bullets are made of a few different pieces.

I guess so, but I'd rather not be really close up with a monster if I can help it.

[And he's not a huge fan of weapons at all; he only carries the gun as a part of his job and for self-defense. And sure, the other weapons would be self-defense too, but they're so... Personal.]

I'll take either, or both. But it's better to have boring things to do than a bunch of really serious problems, right?

[Of which he has none, of course. None.]

I guess, but then it's boring. I don't think I've ever had a lack of really serious problems. I'm almost jealous.

Ah. Still, I wouldn't bet against their ingenuity. Keep them in mind, if another solution doesn't present itself.

[Well, that is a very different sort of problem, isn't it? It's been too long since most people Fingon knows have had the luxury of not carrying weapons, but he tries to reach back in his memory for what not having them at hand feels like.]

You're a healer; you shouldn't need to. But this city is too precarious to rely solely on one type of defense. If you feel uncomfortable with weapons, there might be someone in the city who could propose an alternative besides trying to stay out of danger, but that would take time to arrange as well.

Don't be too jealous; it's usually after something being boring that things then suddenly go really badly.

[At least in his experience, anyway.]
