(With so many struggling with Hadriel's newest ploy to break the populace down, Sansa is unsure how best to introduce herself. First, she is sitting, her hands folded in her lap. Then, she stands and absently smoothes out nonexistent wrinkles in her skirt.)

My name is Sansa Stark and I wish to offer my condolences to those of you who are suffering. (She knows the feeling and, thus, her words are not empty comfort.) Living in a land of monsters and nightmares is not an easy task. I have done it twice before and I wondered if anyone else had memories of other worlds beyond the one you call home?

Wisdom might suggest discretion in this scenario, but Dany has never been one for that. ]

And where do your allegiances lie, Lady Stark?

By "memories of different worlds", am taking it that you don't mean just having your head fucked with by the gods here to make you think you've lived other lives?

[But Rey is also familiar with what Sansa is actually talking about.]

[Maketh tips her head to the side.]

I have been to many worlds. Though this is not unusual, where I am from. Was there something in particular you wished to know?

Living with such things never is, but the bravest and the best of souls can make it easier for others.

[If you're confused, Sansa, he means you.]

How are you holding up?

[ Sharon, on any other occasion, would have answered Sansa's question or ignored the post outright. She bothers with few people, except this one catches her eye. She saw her before in a horse-faced young girl's mirror. That same young girl shattered Sharon's mirror upon seeing the faces of Chris and Vincent, near duplicates of her older brother and father. ]

...You've got a younger sister, right?

(She is a Targaryen. Sansa thinks quickly, recalling the name Daenerys. Anyone must be better than the Baratheons and the Lannisters, surely? But she will not lie.)

I am. The eldest daughter of Eddard and Catelyn Stark.

(She gives a curtsy, head dipping gracefully.)

With the rest of my living family and Winterfell, Your Grace.

No. I mean visiting other worlds in truth. (Then again, isn't the outcome similar?) I was born on a continent called Westeros. Then I visited Ruby City, which was located on another world entirely. Now I am here in another world still.

Not unusual? Your people have learned how to be...world travelers? (She is very curious.) Have you felt...changed...by your experiences?

That is so and, on that point, I am blessed to be in your company.

(She can rely on herself - she knows that now - but a friendly face never hurts.)

I have faced many scary ordeals. An image will not break me.

(Family is...a sad affair for the Starks. Sansa is less volatile about it all, but it never stops hurting.)

Yes? Arya. Have you -

Has she been here?

They have, yes.

[Maketh shrugs.]

Not by traveling. By what I observed and did during my military service, yes.

[A pause.]

All worlds look different, but most of them surrender just the same.

Oh. Like that.

[Huh.]

Haven't experienced it firsthand until this one, but you're far from the only one here who's been through that. Was recognized by a couple of people as being similarly stuck in some other reality, though. That was fucking weird.

You have a good idea of what it is like if you have experienced that much. (She feels like she should apologize, but it's not her fault.) What was that other reality like?

Military...? You are a woman, are you not? (Sorry, Maketh, that is unusual in Westeros.) Is that what you seek? Surrender?

Oh, yours is one of those worlds that does not deem women fit to serve?

[Maketh raises an eyebrow.]

The leader who restricts their army is the leader who cuts their fighting force in half. And the leaders I served did often seek the surrender of those they conquered. It was much easier than the alternative.

Generally speaking, no. We can be ladies, princesses and queens, but those who fight are male. (Unless a woman is like Brienne of Tarth or Arya.)

So you were at war.

Well, guess we're all experiencing it now.

[She pauses. There was only a few bits and pieces that she gathered about this other world she had been in, but it was enough for her to know just how different and similar this "other" Rey was.]

It was on a ship. In space. Was apparently there for a few years until that ship crashed in a jungle on some alien planet.

How very archaic. [And pointless, in Maketh's view. Why restrict your force?] Some worlds still have royalty, I suppose, but their power is largely symbolic.

[She blinks.]

Oh, no. The Empire has been at peace for over a decade. There was merely -- resistance.

[And the response to that. Maketh sighs.]

War implies they had some chance of winning, you see.

(She is a little disappointed - she has never been aboard a ship or in the midst of a jungle. But maybe speaking of it helps Rey confront it? Sansa knows words can be both meaningless and healing - if they are backed up with action.)

I take it you did not survive the crash? (Experiencing a death... Sansa has been mercifully spared that.) Some would find our situation exciting; I would trade places with them.

Perhaps. (Her world has been called that often enough that it no longer stings.) The King of Westeros can decide whether his people live or die. There is symbolism, I suppose, but it is overshadowed by his political power.

(She doesn't look convinced.) If there is resistance, the war continues.

(Having the odds stacked against one side hits a little too close to home.)

But they will still fight until there is no one left to support their cause.

Maketh tips her head to the side. Her expression is more tired than anything else.]

There is a difference. If you do not know it, then I am glad for you. I hope we do not see it here.

At the moment...

No. (It's a dangerous system that is bound to explode in war.) The quality of the King makes a great deal of difference.

(And right now, the most recent ones have been lacking.)

I know what it is like to be on the losing side of a war.

[Maketh quips a smile at that.]

And is your king of superior quality?

[Her tone shifts, becoming more serious.]

Then you are a survivor. Good. That will serve you well here.

No. (That is said with no hesitation, no remorse.) My father... My brothers... They would have been of superior quality.

[Now isn't that interesting?]

So your family has a claim to the throne. Curious. I notice you do not include yourself among their number.
