Are those strange dream incidents still occuring? I must apologise to those who became caught up in mine. It was not my intention to have you see any of that.

More importantly, I would like to ask if anyone knows where in the city I might find art supplies, or if you have any of your own you would allow me to use. Thus far I've found little of any value, and what is an artist without art?

If I cannot paint, I will be bereft of purpose. Perhaps I will simply wither away, like a plant without sunlight... A fitting end for one trapped in a cave...

There are stores all around, aren't they? Some of them are bound to have something, even if it's not what you're used to.

And yeah, the damn dreams won't stop. I think I liked it better when I couldn't dream at all.

My dreams have been really strange. But I've had bad dreams for a long time.

You won't wither away. You'd be surprised at what you can live with, when you have to.

Certainly there are stores, and essentials like food are plentiful. For some reason, paints and brushes and the like are far more scarce. I've searched everywhere I could find.

What do you mean, you couldn't dream?

Bad dreams or not, this is surely the first time you've seen another person's...

Art supplies in general would be useful, though I am a painter, specifically. And I disagree. I cannot live without art.

I mean that's a things dwarves normally can't do. We don't have the connection to the Fade -the place where humans or elves or whatever go when they dream- to make that happen.

The name's Aren. I'm still new so I don't know where everything is, but I'll keep a lookout if you do the same for doggie treats and toys.

I don't know, but other people have reported similar strange things occurring in their own dreams.

That's the way it's always been here I'm from. I'm still working out how it is over here, so I don't know if this dream thing will happen a lot.

Yep! His name is Barkspawn and he's friendliest war dog who can fuck monsters up. I gotta make sure he has some good fodder for playtime.

I don't mind. I draw sometimes.

I'm an artist, not a decorator. Or is there a mural or similar design that you'd like me to add?

I see... [Yusuke's not sure what's "friendly" about a war dog trained to fight monsters, but maybe he'll see for himself whenever he bumps into the dog in future.]

I'm more familiar with cats than with dogs, but I'll be sure to keep an eye out for anything that looks like it might appeal to him.

I don't think we can help who sees what, dream-wise, so don't worry about it. Cutting each other some slack and blaming the gods instead sounds like a better approach, to me. They're the ones who deserve it.

True... It's probably them who are behind this, and therefore deserving of blame.

Still, I feel obligated to apologise, if only because my dream was unpleasant. No one should be forced to witness things like that.

I remember the dream. I thought it was just a dream. I've always had nightmares.

I feel the same way about mine. Some of that stuff was...fucked up. But if people can deal with that and not flinch, maybe we'll have figured out who to trust around here.

Fortunately not. What designs does it have? Perhaps I'll go see for myself.

That's true. Real friends and allies don't turn away from ugliness for their own convenience... Rather, they seek to help their friends through it.

Who is this Hannibal person? You mentioned them before, in the dream. They seem to mean a lot to you.

He's my guardian. He took care of me after my parents died and he was here too.

[Yusuke actually has no idea what Kate looks like, but for his own part, it's not hard to miss the weird teenager who arrives half an hour later, lurking around outside and muttering to himself while he admires the murals.]

What an enchanting building... If only more structures around the city were painted like this.

I see. If he was here before, did he somehow leave?

Or something happened and he died and hasn't come back yet.

( Yeah, Sharon's paintings of the events the gods have unleashed are less beautiful and more haunting, horrifying, even. There were times where the gods incentivised making the place more appealing to live in, offering paint supplies and everything, but it's been so long since that happened.

Kate shrugs, once pink hair pushed up into a tight bun that gives her the illusion of a little bit more height and keeps it from her face. )

Wanted it to be easy to recognise, I think.

( It's been a long time since this place was founded, since it was painted. She wasn't even here for the actual founding, but somehow she's still here, keeping track of it all. )

But if he's you're guardian, surely you'd know if something terrible happened to him?

Yes, it's certainly eye-catching. The various languages are a nice touch... Ah, and here's Japanese.

[His fingers brush along the red lettering of the various translations for the clinic, impressed. This really is a place built to cater to people from as many countries and worlds as possible.]

You said parts of the building needed freshening up? [He turns to Kate. He'd scoffed at her request before, but now he's seen the clinic himself, he wouldn't mind helping maintain something as pretty as this. It would be a shame to let the paintwork fall into disrepair.] Can you show me where you had in mind? Is anything damaged?

I don't know. Not if the person who killed him was very good at hiding it. They'd have to be good at it to get to Hannibal. He's special.

( They kept the clinic safe from the fire, but there's a few spots towards the back of the building where heat and smoke has messed with the vibrancy of the colours. Kate nods and walks them both that way. )

Had a fire not long ago - you here for that?

( Sometimes it's hard to keep track of who turns up when, honestly. )

Building's fine, paint job got scorched.

[He follows along, shaking his head.] It was before I arrived... but I know of it. One of my friends was hurt in the fire.

[Even though his injuries weren't serious, Yusuke still wishes he was here for it. He hates the idea of his friends being in trouble here alone.]

I'll repaint the damaged areas, then. It shouldn't be too much trouble.

Ah.

( There were some injuries, she remembers. A lot of people overdoing it, too. Her staff did good work during that. )

That'd be great.

( It's just a shame it won't last all that long (: thanks Delight. Though, he can definitely come to the rebuilding party. )
