[It's tempting to joke that it's a good thing she didn't take cello lessons because that would be objectively useless, but as tired as he is he still knows this might not be the time. Instead, his tone softens a little, and he's quiet a moment before responding.]

Being able to teach yourself something, especially to the extent that you did, is a much rarer skill than it's often recognized for. So is teaching someone else, which you were very good at.

[Both of those things are super important!]

What did you do for work?

[Because again, most jobs require some level of skill, even if she's not counting whatever it might be.]
