Once a month, the gods do weird shit to us, like the whole deaf thing. Their goal is to provoke an emotion. They feed on our emotions. Usually, they only do it once a month and it lasts about a week, so it sucks. But it's doable.

What you might not have heard about is the Null. They're a race of mechanical beings who hate all emotion and have the goal of getting rid of it. They'd also like to kill the gods. Personally, I don't think we've seen the last of them, so you might wanna save your ammo.
