Hi, everyone. I just woke up here, and I wanted to thank everyone who's tried to make this... really weird situation a little more tolerable for those of us who just came through the door.

My name is Jill Valentine. Back home, I'm a member of an anti-bioweapons task force run by the United Nations.

Strangely enough, I'm told I've been here before. I don't remember that, but something about some of you feels really familiar.

[Her eyes scrunch a bit as if trying to search the recesses of her mind, but she can't remember this place no matter how hard she tries. It's almost like trying to recall a dream.]

So I just wanted to say, if you did know me before, you don't have to tip-toe around that. I'd actually like any and all information you can give me so I can prepare myself for this place. If I've already got friends here... well, I'd count that as a very good thing.

[She ends that with a little smile.]

[She did look different in some ways. Healthy. Vibrant. Since they were speaking to each other, naturally, she expects him to look at her. There was something about his gaze though that was a bit intense.]

[ Maybe this was some sick joke. But she didn't look like she was joking. It might not have been the Earth he knew but Seth was still floored at possibly ending up on an Earth that what she spoke of happened to. This was only the second 'realm' that he ended up at. Anything was possible.

He swallowed thickly, giving a nod. ]

Zombie apocalypse then. Great. Fuckin' wonderful.

[ The conversation was going downhill fast. He felt sick to his stomach, wondering if Richie and Kate were home safe and sound or stuck where Valentine came from. The two could handle themselves--he just hoped they were together.

Seth's eyes had fallen away but picked back up. ]

This place is a walk in the park from where you left off at then?

[That's a sobering prospect.]

I...don't think they were. But I guess I'm no monster expert.

I wouldn't say that. It's not like every place is covered in zombies where I come from. When an outbreak happens, it's bad. Very bad. But a lot of people live normal lives without ever seeing a monster.

[Jill smiles a little.]

That's our goal. One day, maybe there won't be anymore, but that can't happen with rogue companies constantly trying to invent new ones.

Well, if they weren't, at least that's something.

[It makes doing what she has to do a little easier.]

[ He tries! He is glad to see Jill again, and he smiles back. ]

I remember that about you, that you don't sit by, you pitch in.

If I can think of anything, I'll certainly ask! No varren trying to chew my leg at the moment, though! [ Chuckle. ]

I try.

[That's all any of them can do.]

Let's hope there won't be another one of those incidents. Wouldn't want to risk losing a leg.

Something convenient?

Something that makes it a little easier to kill them.

[If they're monsters, Jill will still sleep at night.]

Oh, depending on the monster, it isn't easy. But you don't have to worry about accidentally killing a friend in there.

That's good to know.

[Back home, friend or not, if someone has turned, killing is the very likely outcome.]

You try, and you do very well. I'm proud to know you. [ Even if she doesn't exactly remember knowing her. ]

[ Indeed, that's all any of them can do, and they must keep doing it! ]

I'm sure there will be other incidents. The gods like us to get all riled up, preferably angry and frightened, but at the very least warlike and aggressive. The way people like us get when we're fighting things that want to eat us or otherwise destroy us, you know?

[ Her response was unexpected. Seth always imagined an outbreak to cover every inch of the planet. There was some comfort in knowing some places managed to be left untouched. ]

Rogue companies? Not governments?

[ She left him confused and it showed on his features. ]

Yes, mostly. Generally, it's work being done out of the public eye. Companies try to profit from new bioweapons they're looking to sell. Sometimes to governments, but most of the time they end up in the hands of terrorist organizations or people who try to use them to expand their own power.

After a few outbreaks, the optics don't look good for governments that try to get involved.
