[The view on the camera abruptly, dizzily spins, showing the sky, then sand, then sky, cliffs, sand, then darkness--it's enough to confuse anyone until they realize what happened. Ianchus has thrown the phone.

He doesn't usually lash out, doesn't usually show his anger. Or else he does it with a smile. Caedra is likely familiar with that smile--bared teeth are bared teeth, after all.

But it's the feeling of helplessness, the anger than he knows is unjustified (Michael was just doing his...job?). He has no one to blame but himself.

There's silence, and then he speaks--the video feed has either been jolted off or has been switched off, so it's just his voice, sounding more tired.]


...I apologize. You did what you thought was right. I...I imagine it would be important to you to know what happened.

[Stop being so selfish, Ianchus Cepheos. A dead body is a sign of danger to anyone who doesn't have any other context.]
