It's been a long time, but jam's pretty simple if you have the fruit and extra sugar. It's a little time-consuming but you basically mix fruit and sugar, let it congeal for awhile, then heat it until it thickens. Pickling's even easier; just add whatever to vinegar or saltwater, but I think we can find vinegar already here to work with.
