Video - Patron Gods Event

[Video broadcast begins with Jill mad as hell! She's had enough and she's not gonna take it anymore!]

That's it! I've had enough of the gods playing with us. We're not toys for them to wind us up and watch us go once a month for their amusement.

And I know I'm not the only one pissed off about all this.

Maybe the gods are too cowardly to do nothing else but show their faces on the network, so let's take it to their doorsteps.

( The second person in this broadcast is unfamiliar but to the few who've run into her for her first few days here. Really, Dylan hasn't got the experiences or history to talk about the gods in the same way, but they did drag her away from something important to… serve as food? What the hell?

But, more importantly, this friendship bracelet? Has her determined to win whatever the heck sort of contest this is. Which is why she's with Jill, outside one of the temples and stood next to a bunch of supplies - toilet paper, random scavenged foods, paint, rubble - with a bucket of paint in her hand. )

We're taking back our control.

( By splashing paint all over the temple? Kay, Dylan. Okay. )

You better not be too scared to join us.

So you don't actually have any idea at all.

What were you saying about useless? Because right now, out of the three of us, the useless one is you.

I wouldn't say I'm too scared.

Most of those so-called gods have already resigned themselves to being hated by the population. The gods aren't going to change their minds over vandalism. And in fact, you're probably only going to give Rage more power by encouraging an unhealthy and unproductive outlet for your frustrations.

With this competition going on, you would better achieve your goal of spiting the gods by not inciting any intense emotion in the community. You can't stop what you feel, but you can at least ensure that you don't provide any further power to them.

Then why not join us? You look like you could do some damage with the right tools.

[She's the master of unlocking, that's who!]

Maybe we don't have control, but we can be upset about it. If you're not helping, then you are useless, so either paint a big Fuck You on this temple wall, or go do something productive.

Rage and the rest of them can kiss my ass.

[Jill doesn't care what they think. She's going to let them know how angry she is about everything terrible that's happened here.]

If you're that insistent, organize this after the competition. The last thing any of us needs right now is any of the more negative emotion gods winning.

[Somehow he thinks she's just insistent on pissing the gods off though that she won't listen to reason. Oh well. BRB gonna go get cleaning supplies.]

[He's going to have a lot of cleaning to do with Jill throwing eggs at the windows. There's such a satisfying sound when they SMACK and then drip down the glass. Hah!]

[Great. Just great. Danse takes a deep breath and heads outside the temple. The cleaning supplies he leaves inside, they're for later. Right now, the priority would be to convince this angry lady to stop tossing eggs in the first place.]

Look. I get that you're angry, but this really isn't the right way to one-up the gods. You're just making Rage stronger.

I love vandalism as much as the next person, but how's that going to do anything.

[She's laughing, honestly.]

It's a chance to let out the anger you feel. What does anything we do here accomplish? Nothing. Doesn't that get under your skin?

[Making rage stronger? Well that's the point. She has rage's friendship band to prove it. And who's this guy to tell her what to do? He's not even on the city guard! Far as Jill knows, anyway.]

[And she chucks an egg in his direction. Jill is going to feel so terrible when this event is over.]

[...yeah. The band's a give away. Danse catches a flash of colour on her wrist, and just as he makes the connection, he flinches when the egg connects with his face, hard.

It doesn't hurt, but it's slimy and it smells. Makes it hard to take deep breaths to calm down. Danse brings a hand up to his face and wipes off as much of it as he can.]

Satisfied? Or are you still trying to make me angry? It's not going to work.

So your solution is to throw paint on buildings.

It's not a solution, you moron. Don't you understand anything I've just said? It's expression.

[Normally Jill wouldn't be doing anything like this. She doesn't even hate the gods.]

You guys are so fucking dumb. But, uh, do your shitty attempt at vandalism and know that it's going to get you nowhere. It won't even piss off the gods.

[Sharon must be working for team Rage because she's certainly not striking fear with words like that.

And why does everyone assume they're trying to piss off the gods? This exercise is meant to express their own rage. Whether the gods like it or not is irrelevant. It appears some people aren't intelligent enough to figure that out.]

What do you know about the gods?

[Seeing the egg slide down his face is actually incredibly satisfying.]

Not even close to satisfied.

[And she flings another egg at him just to prove it. DEEP BREATH, DANSE.]

[ She may be competing in this ridiculousness but she's not always out to strike Fear in the hearts of people, especially people like Jill. A demon had done enough to the other woman. ]

Look, I know that fucking up their temples is lame and that they really don't give a shit about it. In fact, I don't think anyone does. But if it helps you feel like you're sticking to your team's cause or whatever, good on you.

Go team. [ That is the least enthusiastic go team ever said. ]

[Sharon's sympathy would be appreciated, given that Jill can't seem to catch a break. Maybe she's just more susceptible to the gods desires than Sharon. In most ways, Jill was still human despite her biological changes thanks to a virus back home.]

Well I give a shit about it! I give a shit about being stuck here because they're incompetent at getting us home! I give a shit about my friends, who might be in danger or dead while I'm trapped here! Maybe you don't give a shit about anything, but I do!

[Jill's eyes are burning, and the only thing she can do about it is throw something. So she plans to do that after she hangs up on Sharon. But damnit, she's going to feel terrible about her behavior when this is over.]

I do give a shit, thanks, but I've been here long enough that I've already done all the cage rattling you're trying. I altered the world to get back at them, all right? I set Fear's temple on fire once. I beat my hands bloody against Hope's walls when I came back to life. I threaten them over and over, so don't try to tell me I don't care. [ The notion she doesn't care pisses her off just a little but she reigns it in because this is what they want. ]

Save all that fury for when you can actually do something about our situation because that's when you'll need it. [ That day will come but until then, she just has to wait and play the long game. ]

But you know what? Maybe she'll work all that rage out in her system, and she won't try to bother anyone else. Danse won't try to egg her on, he suspects her emotions will do the job for her.]

Fine. Throw as many eggs as you want at me until you're done. Then leave.

[Jill doesn't hang up right away. At least it appears she made Sharon mad, which is satisfying, even for a bit.]

So you used to give a shit, but now you sit around quietly feeling pissy at everybody instead while not doing anything at all. Yeah, that's so much better. You've given up and that's even more pathetic than I originally thought.

[ And that pisses Sharon off. Fury catches in her throat and it takes a long moment for her to respond, words forcibly easy going, intention only to hurt the other woman now, any consideration for what she'd gone through gone with just those few words. ]

Yeah, I think the only one pathetic in this conversation is you. I love the assumption, though, it's cute, but I could point you to multiple people who would be happy to prove you otherwise. [ Hell, her conversations with Sorrow and Tranquility prove otherwise. Her creation of the emergency caches proves otherwise. The fact that she gets up at all proves otherwise because if she gave up, she'd rot away, become more like Alessa, hopeless but furious with nothing left to fight for. ]

But, you know what, you do you. You couldn't handle a demon and you can't handle this place. I pity you.
