[ No, Hermann has no idea that he's posted an application to the network. No, he has no idea what he ended up coding while tinkering with a beta version of Mahjong.
However, if anyone is actually stupid (or confused) enough to download it, a phone approximation of the following (beginning at 11:39) will occur:
Given the lack of an internet browser, approximate text one never input into text windows, etc. However, there is the nyan cat, the product of confusion and attempting to draw tiles in a paint program. And don't worry -- reboot, and it's all back to normal. Until then?

[ooc: 1) this is obviously completely optional oh my god 2) to be extra clear if you choose to get a virus it will self-terminate or whatever after a reboot NO PERMANENT DAMAGE 3) anyone tracking the community definitely didn't see anything when someone who isn't me hit enter ok bye ]

Dude, I thought we were cool, and now you've gone and Nyancat'd me. What's next, a Rickroll?
[Please say yes. He would so use it to then Rickroll everyone else.]
1/?
So he barely reads it before responding, ]
I didn't intend to do it! It sholud be gone if you're able to send this! Of course nott!
[ yes, with the typos, but - ]
also permatext;
Rereading.
Is -- is that -- tone's a challenge -- ]
Are you being facetious, Mr. Chris?
no subject
The adjective matters less than the sentiment. Cool is Newton's fixation. Hermann is a comfortable nerd. ]
fin;
Unless you are volunteering to play Mr. Astley. We mustn't let Newton do it. His voice is terrible.
[ Very Serious except also, given the subject matter, having marginally relaxed. ]
[text] OH HERMANN
Me? Facetious? Never. Besides that would kind of require, you know, the situation being more serious than memes. Not that memes aren't serious.
[Because they're so very, very serious.]
I dunno, I don't think I could pull off the dance moves. Though maybe we should just put together something vaguely reminiscent and then just make that a Hadriel-specific version of Rickrolling.
the coolest (nyan)cat
[ Drat Miss Confusion for outing him as someone who had been a young adult with a computer and actually aware of memes in 2007 and 2011. Well, he'd been eighteen in 2007, if in Germany. He's only human. ]
Our own version? Vaguely reminiscent could cover a wide range. Would we compose a unique song for it?
[ Newton is the musician, but he can already imagine, and why is he playing along except he's so relieved it was transient -- ]
We're all stuck in this cave / You hate the gods and so do I* ?
*I do not, however that seems to be the consensus.
so very cool
[He's joking, but only a little. That would be super serious and not just in an addicted to technology kind of way.]
Nyancat's pretty memorable. Though I dunno I probably would've gone with Robot Unicorns and Erasure.
[And okay, he is so not expecting fake lyrics and now he's imagining it and it actually makes him laugh enough that there's a short delay before he replies.
You're totally onto something with that. We could so do it.
(⌐▨_▨)
I doubt Robot Unicorns would have the same impact without Erasure which I doubt anyone's ability to replicate. That said, the next time my mind and hands betray me while I am on my phone, I'll surely remember your preferences.
[ And how has he come this far in facilitating nonsense? ]
As I am neither lyricist, nor musician, nor performer, we'll have to enlist the better suited.
interrupting noot
and 2.) i am ttly a musician and this needs to happen

2.) I knew you'd say that.

yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeah!!!
[Next time he get it booted up he'll totally check.]
There's a few singers around here, but we'll have more trouble with the background music. I think you're fine on the lyrics, though.
[Also, Chris can actually sing well enough that he could do the cover, but he will not admit that ever for any reason.]
o͡͡͡͡͡͡͡͡͡͡͡͡͡͡╮(;´༎ຶД༎ຶ`)╭o͡͡͡͡͡͡͡͡͡͡͡͡͡͡
Unless some of those singers have acapella experience and could approximate. Alternatively, a chiptune backdrop. I do think someone else ought to polish the lyrics.
[ If only someone would admit it for him. Then again, there should be at least one willing, even eager person. ]
no subject
Chiptunes are a great idea; we could probably do that. Maybe also take bits from the music that's already on my iPhone and mix them together? I dunno.
[This is a carefully guarded secret okay and thankfully the few people who know aren't here. Unless, of course, it gets out that Chris was trolling during the event where Rage messed with the phones, and so his singing responses weren't caused by god-magic.]
no subject
Newton might be useful with all of that. Well, he can do it with the right program, which makes it slightly more complicated.
[ And who would (or could) ever disclose that? ]
no subject
[Too much looking for obstacles.]
I wonder how complicated it'd be to make the program to do that. Probably not super bad if it's simple, like stringing together clips; even making them shouldn't be too hard if you know exactly what time span you want to cut from a song.
[Now he's thinking about it. And lbr it'd probably be Chris himself that would give that away, as pleased as he is with himself for pulling it off and prone to forgetting he has a reason to keep it secret.]
no subject
[ Mustn't get too close to admitting that he'd once played Robot Unicorn, himself. ]
Yes, if it's something like that, it wouldn't be too bad. More complex music production or editing wouldn't be entirely beyond these phones, and again Newton might be able to advise in the coding, but it would be an awful lot of work to convincingly rickroll.
[ At least it wouldn't mean anything to Hermann, spared any of that from him. As for the others, well... ]
no subject
[But yes, it's a very familiar thing; kind of a sense of normalcy.]
I feel like it'd be worth it, though. Nothing like pulling off the perfect rickroll.
[It's an art.]
no subject
Americans.
[ As if he's never rickrolled.
And as far as anyone need know, he never has. ]
no subject
[Sure, Hermann. You know way too much about rickrolling to have never done it.]
no subject
[ Dr. Hermann Gottlieb has always been thirty-six going on sixty. Thus, no rickrolling. Obviously. ]
