This is Inquis - ah, Cecily Trevelyan. Old habits, you know. Anyhow, I thought we could all use a bit of a break from the fairly consistent dread, and... having family and friends just up and vanish, so I've decided to have a bit of a get-together. Wicked Grace, a few drinks, conversation... that sort of thing. So long as we're all decided, for the entirety of the event, to maintain a kind of happy ignorance of the dire situation we're all facing.
[ It's not too much to ask to have one evening of not worrying about the horrors that might soon wander out of the caves, right? Right?? ]
Let's say... four days from now, at the end of the week. Come to the second spiral, 1502. No one is allowed to be morose.
[ What else? ]
Mm... right. You don't need to respond if you'd rather just show up, but it'd be helpful to at least have some idea of how many to expect.

It's hard to be as enthusiastic about this, because Elena thinks the Seven Days of Hadriel accomplished a break from the consistent dread, dread Elena now knows well, but when things were falling apart around them, Elena and her friends found time to make the moments count.
Even if she won't be inviting Caroline, something she would've easily done only a week ago.
She's testing her limits, which is why she addresses Cecily from atop one of the structures. Stefan brought her to the top of a ferris wheel once upon a time. Behind her, the expanse of Hadriel, and a spire in the distance. ]
I'll go. I knew Emily, and I know about losing loved ones. And, I promise that's the last I'll mention it. Moroseness ends here. [ She even attempts a smile, her lips coming together. It's the weight of feelings that presses down, that forces her to reach out. And the few drinks are what attracts her, too. ] Should I bring anything? [ She'd offer outright but she doesn't know Cecily. And her parents taught her to never arrive empty-handed. ]

[ So many, over the year and a half that she's been in Hadriel. It still stings, keen as the days they all left. One by one. ]
Don't feel as if you have to. [ Cecily replies, flapping a hand. ] I wouldn't turn down any offers of drink, though, especially as my own meager stores may not last the night.
[ She has only a vague idea of how many people are coming at this point, after all. ]

Well, seeing as I was taught to never show up empty handed, I'll bring something. Do you like anything in particular? My tastes tend toward aged on the rocks. [ Though she does like her vodka and beer, when there's beer. She's not choosy beyond Damon's bad bourbon influence ]

[ She would claim she doesn't consider it a home, but she's been here a year and a half already, and that's quite a lot of time to not consider your residence much at all. ]
I'll see you there, then. Er, 'here.'
