[For those familiar with Clinic, it can be recognized to be the backdrop for this broadcast; it's also probably easy enough to guess that Lance has just arrived there, because he's obviously drenched. It doesn't seem to bother him any, though, except for that his slightly ridiculous hair is now definitely long enough to fall into his eyes when wet, so he has to shove some of it out of the way before he can actually see the screen.

Despite being soaked he looks a little more vibrant and relaxed than usual, although in contrast his tone is quiet and sedate for the most part.]

Is the 'raining underground' thing strange even for here, or...?

[Because he hasn't been here that long and he's heard that it's snowed before, so maybe not? But the rain is totally not the point of this post, so he continues.]

But rain aside, I'd actually wanted to ask about the caves that branch off from the main cavern. I know they're supposedly difficult to navigate and filled with monsters, but have there been any coordinated efforts to explore them? And what sort of monsters exist in them?

[He does remember Maketh telling them there are paper records on some of the monsters at the Guard post, but as far as he's concerned that's really not too helpful. Besides, he'd rather hear that the general populace has to say, and talk to them individually on this.]

[Hope you don't mind skeletons. Sans, for what little it matters, seems fairly unperturbed about his generally fleshless state of being, as long as you don't think too hard on how it is he's able to talk without breaking his smile.]

[Or does water just fall from the ceiling? Because, you know, if it's raining underground there really is no reason to expect there to need to be clouds because magic.]

I'd like to argue that most of the time I'm not putting myself in harm's way specifically; whatever I'm doing just happens to be dangerous more often than expected.

[And honestly it's kind of annoying.]

[He has nothing better to do than argue philosophical points, and so he will.]

Abilities are still abilities even if you cannot control them.

[Trust him on this one, 90% of his career is dealing with people who have astounding abilities they have no control over. Yours is proving to be just as dangerous. Good job]

Be that as it may, I'm not intentionally or unintentionally trying to get into any danger.

[He's already had more than enough of that with the things he's gotten involved with so far, and it's surely not over.]

That actually makes a lot of sense. A rain-like effect can be created in caves close to the surface by water filtering down through the ceiling of the cavern.

[Although it's not usually so dramatic. Also doesn't account for the wind or hail or lightning, but who knows if that's a thing where Sans is from too.]

[In the spirit of playful quips Rosen starts to type out a reciprocal joke about age. However his thumb hesitates over the send button. His joke, which had read something along the lines of "Old thanks to the ability to avoid unnecessary dangers" suddenly stings a bit. Its coming too soon after their discussion of the fact that Lance quite literally will never be anything other than young and much of that because Lance had inadvertently placed himself in danger.

So where he sits in his apartment Rosen slumps a little and deletes what he's typed. It then takes a few moments for him to pick a response]

Don't they say 'listen to your elders'?

[Lance notices the delay but isn't sure of the reason for it, and assumes Rosen probably just had something else to check on for a moment.]

'They' say a lot of things.

[And most of them are just as ridiculous as that one. Lance also refrains from adding the obvious 'most people are my elders' comment that's just begging to be said.]

Have you ever wondered who 'they' are?

Old people, I presume. Maybe a few mothers.

[Sounds like the right combo for most of the sayings.]

I guess the storming would have to be new. It ain't rainbows, but I guess it's a change in pace.
