Dictation - 4 [Text] (Forward Dated to the 7th)
There was no ceremony or eagerness to the way he pulled himself up, sat for another moment or so, and gathered himself onto his feet.
There was a slight haze. A disorientation that felt like heavy fingers gripping lazily at the back of his brain, just tightly enough to be a constant drain but not an actual impairment, and with the same slow, apathetic demeanor he had begun the trudge back to the spires, climbed the steps, opened the door, then tucked himself away inside his apartment, slumped into a chair at his kitchen table.
What now?
Should he call someone? Inform someone that he was back? In his tired fog he couldn't really see a point to telling anyone. What difference would it make? Was it even important? His empty apartment almost felt, in that moment, like evidence confirming that no, it was not.
At some point his fingers crept into his sweater pocket and fished out his phone, and at last he typed out a simple and emotionless text]
Has anyone seen my satchel?

Text to Action
He held up a bag of tea he'd found, and not knowing if Rosen was more of a tea or a coffee person, he figured it was a safer bet than accidentally giving something an allergy or raising their insulin too high when he didn't know his medical history. Not that he wasn't above checking Rosen's chart to double check that. ]
Action
So even despite his lingering tiredness from his temporary bout of death, and the sense of disconnect that seemed to be following always a pace or so behind him since he's returned, he was still awake on the early side. So by the time Will knocked, he was in the middle of cooking breakfast.
When he tugged open the door he managed a tired but friendly smile]
Hello, Will. Please come in.
[Lee gestured inside the apartment]
Are you hungry?
Re: Action
Will gave Rosen a friendly smile and walked inside. You were asking a fifteen year old teenage boy if he was hungry? Will nodded.]
I'd love some. But...should you be doing that? How are you feeling?
[That food smelled amazing, especially since Will had been eating out of can, although he had been experimenting with the 'microwave', if that thing could be called one.]
Re: Action
I don't know that it is any worse for me than doing nothing.
[He added a few more eggs into the pan]
Besides. I've never been very good at 'resting'.
[For the moment he avoided answering the last question, pretending to be wholly focused on cooking]
Re: Action
I don't suppose it is. You're not sick. Just make sure if you start to feel weak to take a seat.
[Will didn't know the effects of Hope's resurrection, if there was any. He wanted to be sure Rosen was okay--maybe he could brush against his arm when he was done cooking.]
Re: Action
[Lee nodded in faux obedience as he splashes some of the butter over the eggs, and with his eyes never leaving the pan, he shifted the subject]
I owe you an apology, Will.
[He looked up then, glancing at the boy]
I honestly did not realize you didn't know that death was temporary in this cave.
Re: Action
You don't owe me anything. You aren't the first person I've seen die, and sadly, you won't be the last. I'm just glad you came back. People don't normally do that.
[Will was actually more disturbed by that than Rosen dying.]
Back in my world? The Doors of Death opened for a little bit. It was chaos. The dead came back, escaping Tartarus. Thanatos was chained up. It was really bad.
I don't want to sound like I'm not glad you're alive. But....I want you to understand my point of view.
Re: Action
It's alright, Will. I'm not exactly, um [He bites his lip when words fail him, a blank in his mind before he comes back to himself] I'm not exactly on-board with the whole death is not death idea. I always thought that was something I'd only do once in my life.
[He breathes in deeply and turns back to the food]
Could you hand me two of the plates from that cupboard? [He indicates to the left with a jerk of his head]
So. Can you tell me more about when the Doors opened? Why that happened?
Re: Action
[Well,it wasn't exactly good for mental health. Lee Rosen was a prime example of that. It was going to take a lot of time. He supposed it was a good thing they had Lance as a psychologist then. He took another glance at Rosen softly, and then opened the cupboard, grabbing two plates and handing them to Rosen.]
Seven half-bloods shall answer the call,
To storm or fire, the world must fall,
An oath to keep with a final breath,
And foes bear arms to the Doors of Death
That was the prophecy that set it off. I honestly don't know all of it. I wasn't one of the Seven. There were a couple demigods from the Greek Camp, and some from the Romans. Annabeth, Piper, I could name names but you probably wouldn't know them.
Why did it happen? Well, this was another war--or a lead up too one. Two and a half years ago. Gaea was starting to rise--which was a bad thing, trust me. Mother Earth isn't all that motherly. She wanted to release her monsters and armies trapped in Tartarus, so she tried to keep the Doors of Death open.
[Will was what his father liked to call one of the 'B' list demigods. ]
Re: Action
I only know some of those names. Gaea, Tartarus... but there was no Annabeth or Piper in my Greek epics course in college.
[He hands one of the plates to Will then nods towards the table]
So these doors of death, when they were open, did that mean that death was no longer permanent? Or that death just, er, didn't happen?
Re: Action
They're friends, or rather, not friends, but demigods who know my boyfriend. I travel in slightly less....well, different circles.
[Because saying 'less prestigious' seemed like an insult to him and his friends.]
Annabeth, daughter of Athena, Piper, daughter of Aphrodite.
[Will took the plate, his eyes widening hungrily.]
This looks wonderful. It meant that the dead? They could just walk right back out again into the world. The Doors of Death are right by Tartarus too, so lots of great folk. Thanatos was apparently captured, which made it super easy for Gaea and her forces to open the Doors and keep them open. With Thanatos captured, it gave monsters the ability to reform pretty much immediately. Normally, they reform, eventually. Could be a week, could be a thousand years. Monsters are archtypes, they don't die like you or me.
[Will winced, wondering if this was making Rosen uncomfortable.]
Re: Action
Monsters? [He decides to attempt another question. Hoping engaging will be more successful]
Are we talking like, um, Cerberus or the Charybdis?
Re: Action
Monsters. Exactly like that. Although Cerberus tends to stay in the Underworld. I've never met him, but I know people who did. He apparently likes red balls.
[Will thought that was kind of a terrifying concept, wondered if he could crush the souls of the dead while playing fetch with the ball]
The Minotaur, drakon, giants, empousai. I head the Clazmonian Sow appeared during the Battle of Manhattan.
[He paused, looking at Rosen.]
You're having trouble, aren't you?
Re: Action
[His attempt at a joke is weak. though the concept of battle at home hits a bit close to the mark. Then with a soft sigh he nudges one of the sausages with his fork]
Is it that obvious?
Re: Action
Probably for the best. Gods know what mortals attributed it too. Terrorist attack, gas explosions, global warming.
You'll get there. You just need time. And someone to talk to. Several someones if you need it. What you've been through, no one can expect you to bounce back from quickly.
Re: Action
[They aren't his Alphas anymore, are they?]
I've never been very good at the whole having my hand held thing.
[Its not said with any condescension. Rosen has no stock in trying to pretend to be a tough guy. Its a simple fact that he doesn't know how to be on the receiving end of help]
Re: Action
I can tell. It's probably a good experience for a doctor to have though, don't you think?
