[ It's obvious this is being filmed in one of the many temples, all cool hard stone behind her, and, given the subject matter of the video, most likely to be Hope's. Sharon does not look pleased. Furious might be the better descriptor but it's a calm sort of fury. There are a few spatters of dark blood on her cheeks, dried and cracking; old. She has no wounds just stains and memories. She leans in towards the lens and whispers: ]

So, which one of you fuckers killed me? [ Her killer could reply, he might not, but she won't stop until she finds him and returns the favor. ]

Em? Intimidating? Never.

[It's obviously a joke; Emily's scary enough on her own, let alone with a wolf.]

But yeah, sure, no problem. Do you want to come over, or me meet you, or what?

I'll, uh, stop by. You got any time preferences?

I'm uh, not exactly a morning person, but otherwise not really. I'm good with whatever, including now.

[But mornings are terrible, Sharon. Terrible.]

How about an hour from now? I kind of want to wash the blood off me and change clothes.

Sure thing. I'll make sure we've got some coffee by then too, just in case you change your mind on it.

[So he'll see you in a bit, Sharon.]

[ And just like she said, in about an hour, she shows up with wet hair, a slouchy shirt and a pair of torn leggings. She looks a bit like the walking dead or a girl in a 90s grunge band.

Maybe she'll take that coffee after all. ]

Hey, Sharon.

[He lets her in with a small smile of greeting, and warns her immediately--]

Wolfie'll probably come up to you as soon as he figures out you're here, but he's chill. Just wait for him to sniff you and all that dog stuff, and then he's good to pet.

[The wolf is still in the living room, chewing on a stick found in the orchard, but his ears are perked up and he's listening to things.]

Also got coffee made.

[ Sharon leans past Chris to catch sight of the wolf. It's so huge. Alessa used to be terrified of dogs and Sharon feels that familiar twinge. She'd been bitten when she was younger. A girl pushed her down and the same girl's dog lunged at her when Alessa tried to get away. She shakes the thoughts from her head. She's not that little girl anymore. ]

Uh, all right. [ Dazedly but she's quick to pull herself from it. ] I think I'll take some of that coffee. It smells nice. [ Her dad always made a pot in the morning. ]

Hey, if he thought you were a problem he'd be growling by now.

[He didn't miss that dazed tone in her voice, and guesses it's about Wolfie.]

But cool, awesome, do you want it black or...?

[He leads the way toward the kitchen, not calling Wolfie over just yet; probably best to give Sharon a few more minutes to get used to the idea. Also coffee is important in its own right.]

Truth be told, I like animals more than people. [ But that, given her personality, isn't so strange. She follows his lead into the kitchen and then just shrugs. ]

I'll drink it black. I could do without sweetness today.

Somehow that doesn't shock me.

[Chris says it dryly but still with a grin, clearly just teasing as he pours coffee and hands her mug to her without adding anything. His own needs a bunch of stuff.]

Black it is. I, however, being the superior coffee connoisseur, need to add a whole bunch of not-coffee stuff.

[And while he does that, Wolfie has finally gotten bored chewing up the stick and decided to come investigate; he wanders into the kitchen, giving Sharon an interested look and sniffing curiously at her leg.]

[ Sharon only glances down at the wolf when he finally enters, curious. She just sips at the darkness in her mug, finding delight in a bitterness she used to despise. Bitter feels just right for her. ]

I bet coffee snobs hate you.

They totally do. So do my classmates that think it isn't manly to put anything in your coffee.

[Chris takes great joy in tormenting people who are honestly just tormenting themselves; they can sit there sadly with their coffees they don't even like and he'll drink his fancy 'girly' coffee and be happy.

Wolfie apparently decides Sharon smells fine, because he shifts his attention to seeing if there's anything good on the table by running his nose across the edge of it. Chris rolls his eyes, because it looks really stupid to see a giant wolf nose sliding across the edge of the table, then glances over at Sharon.]

Hey, you've been deemed less interesting than crumbs, so you're good to pet him if you want.

Fuck them. [ She responds with a sip and when he mentions the wolf, she holds her hand out, slow and careful. She's never owned a pet before but she's been to the zoo, saw the wolf shows; the dolphin shows; all the shows but never with friends.

That's all right, though. She learned through her loneliness. ]

Hey there, bud. I hope this place has been better to you than us.

[Chris laughs a little at that, stirring his coffee and stepping back over to the table.]

Damn right.

[Wolfie, meanwhile, pokes his nose to her hand curiously, then looks up at her; he's clearly relaxed and apparently expecting to be pet now, thanks.]

Yeah, I think he likes it here, actually. Less wendigos.

[ She carefully runs her fingers through the thick coat. His hair is rough on the top but beneath is softness, the familiarity of a normal dog. She makes sure to find his spots, like behind the ear and even runs her finger down his nose. ]

Is it tough to take care of him? Like, what does he eat?

It's not too hard; since um, we did the whole vegetarian thing at the house, he just gets all the meat we find in the shops and whatever. He's also like... As much as he's like a normal dog a lot, he's also not, so he goes out on his own and I think he may hunt down a monster here and there.

[Wolfie's pretty good about just hanging out with him--and Emily, before--but every so often he goes off to do his own thing.]

But I mean, otherwise and except for that he needs a ton of exercise, he's actually really easy to take care of.

And the perfect companion for dealing with nasties, I bet. [ She could see the animal tearing down a beast for daring to try anything with its current pack member. ] And probably picking up girls, too.

[Okay, that last part totally earns a laugh.]

Probably, though uh, I shouldn't test that out. I actually have a girlfriend, and she was here for awhile too; we just uh, kind of kept things a little quiet.

...Huh, I didn't know that. I'm sorry she's gone. [ The idea that Mello could leave and disappear on her at any moment is something she tries to keep out of mind. The pain of losing him would be awful, worse, maybe, even than Dahlia's betrayal. ]

That's got to suck. [ An accurate summary of people leaving. ]

It's okay; we didn't want anyone to know, so I guess we were pretty successful. And um, yeah, it sucks, but... She's from home, so we'll see each other again.

[So he's okay, even if he misses her a lot. Her and Mello have a much more precarious situation, after all.]

But yeah, Wolfie's great for dealing with monsters, or even just people who might be thinking about being dicks.

[Chris doesn't look super threatening, after all, and although he can definitely take care of himself much better than expected it's way easier if the wolf just scares people off first.]

...I guess there's some silver lining, then. [ He'll see his girlfriend again, no matter what. That must be at least one thought to comfort him at night. She knows that should she leave, she would leave everything she's learned to love as well.

She's learned not to think too much on it or she just fuels Fear. ]

Hey, what about people that think about being dicks all the time? That's my first thought in the morning: what can I do to be a dick to someone today?

Depends on the nature of the dickery.

[Chris... Manages to say that with a straight face, but only for a few seconds before grinning. He keeps going, though--]

I mean, he doesn't like, attack people for their mean, mean words, but if they look threatening he'll totally growl at them. Works great for making people really think about whether they want to be threatening or whatever.

[ She looks to where Wolfie's run off to and she can see his long, straight tail flicking in the distance, between two open spaces, most of his body hidden. Her attention returns to Chris. ]

I'm starting to think I need to get a wolf but then I remember can just glare at most people and get them to fuck off. [ She smiles. Come on, her resting bitch face is nearly as good as Emily's. ]

You totally can.

[He's still grinning, but he means it. She definitely has the scary vibe down.]

But I mean uh, you can also totally back it up if people don't fuck off, so there's that too.
