[How long has it been since the former King of Light last addressed the public at large? Too long. Regis had resigned himself to silence when this fiasco begun and held steadfast to his silence until now. For those who know of him and remember the Caelum, Regis isn't the type to speak much in regards to the matters of Hadriel. He's not king here. It would make no sense for him to speak since this is not his kingdom nor his subjects but many of the people here, he deems as friends. They are friends and colleagues he's come to respect over the long months, many of which he honestly cherish like members of his own family.

That's why he speaks after holding onto his silence for so long. He knows he must do so in hopes of warding the chaos that is bound to brew. Unfortunately, this might spark quite the debate.]

Do not be so quick to cut off your noses in spite of your face. [His tone is stern and sincere without a hint of mirth.] Your desperation will lead you to sorrow if you act with haste.

We mustn't fall prey to their schemes. If they seek a life, let them take it. We are not mere pawns to used as butchers.

[He's being quite cryptic & vague for a reason. Be mindful in how you answer. Regis is aware that certain 'people' might be listening.]

[They've been friends since the first month they arrived, and have fake memories of being married then amicably divorced. He should definitely know by now that she will take a more cool-headed approach to things.]

I doubt they are quite so political as that.

In truth, I don't know what to think regarding such fiends. I just grow tired of them bemoaning for our aid.

Clearly there are some things that they cannot do themselves, and they see the so-called gods as threats because they do not wish to feel emotion.

[She suspects they feel emotion regardless.]

It has been a while since we had a proper visit, has it not? My cats would no doubt love to have some extra attention.

[A chuckle escapes him once Ikaruga mentions her crafty felines.]

I adopted a second one not long after the first. They look quite different from one another, but they are equally strange.

[One is a sparkly cyclops and the other looks like someone attempted cat/dragon hybrids.]

People only want to know what their options are.

Goodness, you have a true fondness for the bizarre.

[Regis will love to meet both of the little cats soon. The cyclops one probably would earn a concerned glance every now and then. Cats aren't meant to just have one eye.]

There's not much options to be had but still---I cannot condone any of this.

[Even in their "normal" Pleasant Valley fake lives, she'd kept a crystal shark as a paperweight in her law office.]

So come over and play with them. They will enjoy the attention and it will take your mind off of this matter for a time.

[Is this what his life has boiled down to? Him being the kindly hold gentleman who's fond of peculiar little felines? Regis cannot help but chuckle as he decides to take her up on her offer. However, he might...bring another with him. Ikaruga does remember his son, doesn't she?

Not at all. Even if this is a less than ideal way to be reunited with him, I'm happy for you regardless.

[And if nothing else, it's probably a good way to adjust from the fake life back to his real memories. It's odd, having memories of a life that never actually happened. It has made her a little more attached to the people who were part of her fake family, though.]
