Hello, fellow abductees,
It has come to my attention that a number of you do not like Dr. Sweets. I did not like him either when I first met him, so this is understandable.
In an effort to help strengthen his standing within the community, I am requesting that you please state if you do or do not like Dr. Sweets, and why. Please also respond if you are indifferent on him, as more data will allow me to form a more complete and accurate conclusion.
Thank you for your assistance.

Hmm. He seems to know what he's doing - competency goes a long way, here. He's smart, he's been nice to me, and as far as I'm aware he hasn't murdered any of my friends. Those are all pretty likable qualities.
text
He is not inclined to murder, no. Thank you for your contribution.
text
How does he feel about you asking the whole city this?

[...says the woman who wouldn't know subtext if it hit her in the face.]

[Brennan pls.]
text
You must be one of his scientist friends.
text
Yes. Dr. Temperance Brennan. I am a forensic anthropologist.

[She's actually trying to be nice.]
All doctors begin somewhere. I began dissecting dead animals when I was in high school.
[That is the least offensive of her experiments growing up, probably.]
text
We did a couple dissections in my high school science classes.
[Though maybe she just... did them on her own?]
They were pretty interesting.
text
As part of our curriculum, my science classes also required us to perform dissections for a grade.
[In all the schools she went to between ages 15 and 17, the two years she was in the foster care system, this was the case.]
In the school I graduated from, I befriended the janitor, and he would give the dead animals he found so I could dissect and study them.
[That's not weird at all, right.]
text
[Weird, though. Pretty weird. But she is a doctor now, though, so... he guesses it worked out. If someone does something like that, you figure they'll turn into either a doctor or a serial killer, after all.]
I wouldn't think there would be enough dead animals laying around on campus for that.
text
He did not find many that frequently, despite the abundance of small animals in the forest nearby.
[She is probably not making it any better, but she doesn't realize that. She probably never will. Sorry, Adam.]
text
It sounds like you were pretty dedicated.
text
[And to making up for the way she'd left things with her mother the last time they spoke.]
Do you intend to become a doctor?
text
And I'm not sure. I didn't consider it much before, but I've learned a lot helping out at the clinic.
text
Well, it is an area you now possess some knowledge in. What did you consider before?

I have a very good friend who has a degree in mechanical engineering. He is an excellent problem solver and one of the people I trust most. I also know a federal prosecutor who is quite intimidating despite her small stature. Either of those would be very good career choices. Of course, I am inclined to encourage you toward engineering, but that is a wholly biased opinion.

What do you mean? How do you know you will not remember when you return home?
