What the fuck did you assholes do to Delight's bar?! Seriously, I leave this shithole for like, a week, and y'all wreck the one good thing we had here?

[Nick is disappoint, son. The video ends with her shaking her head, staring out at the ruins of what used to be her second home in Hadriel.]

[Brennan does not look fazed. If anything, she relaxes a little.]

Yes, exactly. But in any case, I am... sorry to hear that the old bar has been reduced to ruins. I would have liked to see it.

[There are plenty of things she would have liked to see firsthand. This is not a new feeling for her.]

[Nick actually seems somewhat chill about Brennan - even a year ago, she might've snapped something about using big words and making people feel stupid. Andy used to do the same thing, but ever since Nick discovered all the effort he'd put into trying to find her during the time she was gone from her world, the hurt feelings she'd held onto after their falling out were somewhat soothed, and the things that reminded her of him seemed less painful than before.]

You prob'ly would've liked it. Most people did, I think. [She sighs quietly.] Guess I'll have to find something else to do the pass the time until these dicks get back on their bullshit again.

[Brennan smiles. She really does hope Nick finds something to do.]

I dunno, there's really only about three things I can do marginally well. [She ticks them off on her fingers.] Pour drinks, make coffee, and sing - well, four, if you count pissing people off. [She rolls her eyes at herself.] Used to really like that last one a whole lot. I'm Nick, by the way.

It is a big city. [Brennan shrugs.] There is a functioning bar. There is also coffee available, I have been told.

I am Dr. Temperance Brennan. I can sing too, but not frequently. My friend Dr. Sweets also sings, and he plays piano. He is very good.

Really. Did he manage to somehow scare up a piano here?

I'm not certain. It is in his friend's apartment. This happened before I arrived here. You would need to speak to Dr. Rosen about it.

[Noted. She's probably gonna pester him now about that piano sometime.]

Is everyone you know a doctor? I didn't think we had any doctors here, just people at the clinic who know first aid and shit.

No. Certainly not here. I know many more where I am from. But aside from Dr. Rosen, who is a psychiatrist and therefore has medical training, the doctors I have met here are of the scholarly variety. Oh, there is also Dr. Moore -- she is a medical doctor.

[And therefore, the only person Brennan would trust in any medical emergency.]

So what kinda doctor are you?

[Oh my god Nick, you can't just ask people what kind of doctor they are.]

I am a doctor of forensic anthropology.

[Among other things.]

Do you not know many doctors?

I dunno what that means. [She shakes her head.] Last time I saw a doctor was when I had to get stitches from breaking up a fight in the bar I used to work at, and that was years ago.

[What. How... oh wow. Everyone knows what forensic anthropology is.]

I specialize in identifying a person's sex, race, age, occupation, and manner of death based on the markers present on and the condition of their bones. Recently, my primary focus has been to assist the FBI in solving murder cases. My team and I have been very successful and have significantly increased my partner's conviction rate.

[And she adds, because she's... started talking...]

While I am not a medical doctor, I have identified potentially lethal conditions based on x-rays, which have been missed by medical professionals. And I am capable of correctly setting fractured bones. I use my knowledge of human anatomy at the clinic here.

Oh. [And she scrunches up her face in mild disgust.] So you're like, a doctor of dead bodies and shit? That sounds gross.
