[A familiar sight greets anyone who has been in Hadriel long enough: Henry and Maketh stood together, serious and focused. Henry, as usual, wears his full plate armour and mail, and stands as one would expect of a knight ready for battle. Maketh is dressed in her regular uniform, a sword at her side and rifle stapped to her back.

Henry's sharp, unyielding voice demands attention; his whole demeanour is resolute as he speaks.]

Guardsmen! We are assisting the Fire Brigade as of now. Those who are able to directly fight the blaze must speak to Curufin anon, and bolster their force. Those who cannot without great risk to themselves are charged with evacuation and holding a perimeter. Report in!

[Maketh nods firmly.]

We ask that those with medical training report to the Clinic to assist with any injuries, and that the rest of you exercise caution. Be calm, be thoughtful, and we will endure this.

[After Maketh has spoken, Henry then addresses the wider public.]

If you are trapped or suspect someone else is, let us know without delay. What is the Clinic doing?

[His final words are a request for sense, firmly stressed.]

By working together, we may field the most efficient response we can. I urge those who do not number amongst us yet intend to fight this blaze to act with us, rather than alone, and those without the skill or training to remain safe to stay back and help in other ways. Be not foolish.

[This is not really fine at all.]

[One might expect and ice alien to be balking at the onset of such a blaze, and yet here Glacius is, ready to commit himself to the cause. While the flames are certainly enough to put him on edge, it's nothing new; he fought a flaming convict who commanded fire in a slew of dangerous ways before. This is much less aggressive and directly hostile... he can deal with it.] Fighting the fire directly may be risky, but I will do what I must if faced with the necessity. In the meantime, I will try to aid in evacuation.

I also happen to be en route to the clinic, and can update you when I know more. [One of his best friends runs the place and practically lives there. You can bet it's going to be the first place he assesses and defends.]

Nick Valentine, reporting. I'm heading there now to help evacuate anyone caught in the area.

[You know, since he doesn't need to breathe or anything. He'll be okay.]

[Henry nods.]

Glacius is headed for the Clinic. Inform us of where you begin your search.

[ Flames roar behind Drake, who seems to be moving parallel to them. He's not in protective gear yet, but on his way to get it. ]

I'm on the frontline, trying to find Curufin. This is already too broad for the brigade's two trucks.

Curufin, reporting! The firefighters are mobilizing and will be in action within minutes. Stay tuned for a separate net communication from the Brigade. The Guard will also hear it on their app, but I will make it public as well.

[ A few seconds go by while Curufin makes the Brigade post to the net. ]

Firefighters and anyone who needs an immediate response from the Brigade -- for example, if your house is on fire! -- should respond to this post.

We've got three trucks now, two water tankers and one ladder truck. We'll be bringing them all up. Where are you exactly, Drake? [ Not that the fire is hard to find at this point! ]

Coming from Spire 3 and the colosseum, moving towards the center of the city. Where should I meet you?

[Henry grimaces, then speaks again.]

I must confess that I know little of these... trucks. How many would you deem sufficient for the task?

[It's a much less glaring way to ask just how under strength they are, mechanically speaking.]

On that loop of road north of Spire 2. We'll have a better view from there. And a better assessment of who is in the most danger by then.

Okay. I'll be there in a minute.

[ He turns off the feed and breaks into a full run, because every moment counts in situations like this. If he'd had a moped by his apartment he would have used that. As it is he does indeed arrive a few minutes later, slowing to a stop beside the lead truck and looking north at the city burning. It looks like the houses are in danger now but he can't tell from here if spires one and four have caught. Certainly they must have...

Immediately he starts searching for his gear. ]

Has anyone called for help?

I'm not a real fireman, I'm not sure... this is just a guess but at the size it's at right now? Four. And at least one more ladder.

[ He knows well what Henry is asking. ]

What do you do back home? We might have to use those methods too.

[ The trucks are waiting for him, having pulled up only seconds before Drake arrived. Curufin is hanging onto the ladder truck and he now hops down, his boots hitting the ground with a thump. ]

Not yet. I'm not sure why not. We'll have to make our own best judgments about where to start. Nick is starting evacuations, so I'm sure we'll get more info very soon.

Want a protective suit? We brought extra. Tools, too.

Odds are the spires are gonna be the real problem, when it comes to people being trapped. That's where I'd start.

[ He nods, wanting a suit, yes. ]

I can't speak for the rest of the clinic, but I'm already there. Ready to triage any patients you send our way.

I wouldn't doubt it.

In fact. . . [ He points in the direction of Spire One. Smoke is beginning to billow from that part of the horizon. This is clearly visible over the tops of the houses and shops of the city-center. And then there is that lurid glow, cast upwards on the ceiling of the murdercave. Fire reflection.]

[ He tosses Drake one of the excellent protective suits that Sansa Stark tailored for the Brigade. ] Here, put this on, and then climb up. We'd better get going.

[ He pulls the suit on quickly and climbs up as requested, ignoring the nerves bubbling up as he watches the smoke rising. He'll be fine once he's in the middle of it, he's good at that. Being calm during a crisis. People need help, he's gonna be there to help. There's no other option. ]
