I appreciate the vote of confidence, though I do understand that it was more for Sorrow than for myself. Nevertheless, we will be undertaking an investigation shortly. Our main goal is to uncover any allies the Null have in the city - this should be no surprise.

However, I will admit that we have not conducted an investigation such as this before. Our kind never had any need to. As such, we would appreciate any constructive input you would like to give, as well as any assistance you may wish to offer. We have discussed this and decided on a course of action already, but Sorrow and I have agreed that some of you may have more experience with this sort of thing. It would be foolish of us to ignore that. We are listening to your suggestions.

However, please note that I said constructive input.

Maybe we should give Mr. Tranquility's idea a try. These Null are kind of intimidating, but maybe they aren't so bad.

If you're worried about one of the God's dying, why not send one of us in your stead? I'm fine with volunteering.

We have decided against any attempt to contact the Null. They would kill us all with no remorse, including you.

Well, dying is unpleasant. But if they're just going to kill all of us, why would other people choose them over you? I would think alot more people would choose life over simply trying to sell you out.

Or... at least, I would. I certainly don't want to die again. [He laughs a little.]

Maybe you could tell us the story. I... alot of us, don't really seem to understand what these Null are. But maybe if you tell us what happened before, and why the Null are unreasonable, then maybe you can reduce the resistance. I can't pick sides because I don't know what happened. Maybe alot of others feel that way, too.

I believe we already have. We were their allies, once. They turned on us and murdered nearly our entire species. The ones in this cave are the only ones who remain.

They are unreasonable because they will not be swayed from their goal. They have no emotions and wish only to destroy us.

Oh, so you were allies.

What brought you together, and what events lead up to their betrayal? I'm actually really curious.

We were two sentient species in the same area of space. It was inevitable that we would meet one another, and we each had things to share with each other.

However, our presences inspire emotion. This was, and is, unacceptable to them.

Do you know why it's unacceptable to them? You said they worked with you earlier. That seems to be an abrupt change.

Because they don't believe emotion has any value. They wish to be utterly without it.
