[ Will hasn't really been around much at all. Finding small comfort in escapism. Fishing was too obvious a choice as was the spot down by the river he'd made for his Fenic fox and Nugs. No, Will had been living low, hiding out in various God's temples and small nooks and crannies not so deep inside the tunnels, practicing how to most efficiently take out some of the monsters with or without a weapon.
His voice is raspy like he hasn't spoken a word in weeks... which is partly true. ]
My mind has been a busy mess of blur and motion. Thoughts buzzing past like worker bees, endlessly in their endeavor... Nauseating- I er, I know a lot of turbulent occurrences have swooped down and splattered, most ungracefully so, all over this shithole of a cavern we have no choice but to call home. It's been testing, to say the least...
[ A moment of silence as Will recalled the fires, the mirrors and so on. That wasn't what he wanted to be focusing on right now. A heavy sigh before he continues. ]
... Such has been out of our control, true, but what about the things that aren't? There's no death here, no justice either, no real justice. Sure, we have the illusion our City Guard like to cast over us, that we're safe and looked after. Frankly, since Jill vanished I can't for certain say I'd trust any of them with my life- Ah, but what does life matter here, huh? No death, no crime. Murderers and monsters are our neighbors. Friendly Mr. Rodgers in his bloodstained sweater...
[ He's rambling, emotional and tired. ]
We need justice. We're ruled by our emotions, literally! God's? What God's?' He reveals the deep things of darkness and brings utter darkness into the light.' Isn't that what a God does? No, all this death, killing, darkness has to stop. We need a system of order, a place to hold the dangerous, a means of judging and sentencing them... How many times can we be revived before it's too late?
... Well, I'm gonna be trying to do something about it, even if I have to do it alone.

"a place to hold the dangerous"? really? there's no predicting which people such a place would even be able to hold in the first place.
who would be in charge of deciding what laws are laid down here? what about the feeble-minded idiots who let themselves kill while under the gods' influence?
and do you expect several people from varying corners of the multiverse to come to the same consensus on what brand of "justice" should be made?
[permavoice] he's too tired to type.
Mmm, actually I'm pretty sure there are ways and means. And it's really quite simple... Don't kill and expect to get away with it.
I'm not talking about a whole legal system here, all we need is somewhere to hold and punish those who do the unspeakable. Don't go around killing confident that it's okay because we have Hope. We're trying to live like civilized beings here, yet there's no order whatsoever.
And yes, I actually do believe we could work something out.

if someone wants payback for whatever happened to them, it shouldn't have to result in an endless cycle of murder-pong or whatever.
the problem is that so many people shrug their own fucking deaths off like dyings no big deal that you're not going to find an easy answer for this.
and there's got to be something more effective than putting them in a prison-shaped timeout.

We're fighting a losing battle. There's no help, support or structure for those who have died. It doesn't feel good, killing or being killed. I just, I just don't understand why no one has tried to do anything about it before now.
Okay, so if locking them up wouldn't work and the death sentence is null and void, what would you suggest?

honestly? not sure how to fix it. we can make a system, play justice and pretend we have law and order, but the fact is that the gods are the only ones who have any real power/authority in this place. we're on their turf after all. if anything could be worked out, it might be through them.

[ Hm, it's not all doom and gloom after all? When someone can see past his frustration and lethargy. ]
I'm guessing Hope would probably be best to approach first?
[ He's actually asking her opinion. Not that he's going to enjoy talking to any of the God's about this matter. Maybe he's bitten off more than he can chew? ]

[Except no not really, Rey usually sucks at this sort of thing.]
hope and sorrow would probably be the most reasonable ones about it. those two seem to go hand-in-hand a lot these days.
depending on how their little "investigation" goes, you could even argue that they have more experience than any of the others by that point as well.

I eh, don't really seem to see eye to eye with Hope these days. Might just chalk this up to brainstorming some ideas... Come back to it when they've not got their hands full.
[ Slight sudden derail? Nope, not in the slightest~ ]

[Rey has her own issues with the gods, but she'd be lying if she said that they'd be better off without them.]

I wouldn't say he's all that useful. Other than the resurrection part, you still have to make a deal with him for anything else, just like the others.
no subject
he does more than the resurrections you know - he keeps our food supply in stock and the city in hospitable conditions. doubt it'd be easy growing much of anything without the artificial light he makes either.
no subject
Sure, he keeps our food in stock, still have to bargain with him for food for Winston. But yes, I get what you're trying to say and yea, I sound and I'm being ungrateful, I get it.
Still... I don't see him doing anything to help us deal with the growing murder rate we have down here.
