"Any of you asshats realize that those urges that get inflicted on you on practically a monthly basis can be resisted, right?"
[Just going to let that sink in for a second.]
"Stop fucking shooting each other. Those things aren't actually toys."
[Boy is she glad that she melted down her own gun the second it caught her attention. But that also just means she's going to be carrying around her own piece, and it doesn't shoot paintballs.]

[It's a much colder tone than he usually takes, but he's rapidly losing patience for this conversation.]
Considering those who are comatose don't seem to need life support in regards to breathing or heart function, the main threat to them in the short term would be dehydration. It seems like a far better use of everyone's time and energy to help transport them to the clinic, and direct those same 'healing alternatives' toward assisting them rather than healing people who you decide to needlessly shoot.

[Rey is similarly losing her patience with this.]
Am having a hard time seeing how self-defense can be considered "needless". If anything, you should be more concerned with those who are needlessly knocking people into comas and leaving them to die. Unless you plan to take care of those in comas, you don't get to talk like you are the more moral one here.

[Unfortunately, the competitiveness brought on by the event is amplifying his own natural competitive sense, and that's extending beyond just the paintball game. He would've been arguing anyway, but he probably would've managed to be a little more restrained in how he goes about it.]
We can argue the definition of self-defense and where the line is in this particular situation, but somehow I don't think there's any point. Instead, I'll say that considering I'm neither a medical doctor or someone with healing powers my options are kind of limited in dealing with those who are comatose, but if you're interested in actually helping I may be able to coordinate something.
[He'll see what he can do anyway, whether or not she helps, but that doesn't seem necessary to add. Besides, although he's only competing against people he's sure are also in the game, it'll still help mitigate some of the sense of guilt that's been damped but not eliminated by the gods' compulsion.]

It sounds like you keep mistaking this as a normal game, but it's not. You're not playing pretend, and those guns aren't harmless toys. And if anyone comes after me or anyone who isn't participating with them, then yes, will do whatever it takes to protect them. If you're concerned about a rampage with real bullets, that's not what's happening.
[She scoffs.] There is no argument -- the definition of self-defense even in this case is pretty clear. But you're right, am not going to debate with you on that.
If you're willing to get your head out of your ass and stop trying to dispute over semantics, then we can talk about actually doing shit about this.

[But competitiveness or not, he can recognize that this entire conversation is getting nowhere and he should stop bothering trying to convince her. He'll just deal with whatever happens when it does.
So he takes a moment to center himself and, with great effort, remember that he doesn't need to justify himself to anyone, especially not anyone here. His tone is much more neutral when he responds, although it's probably not difficult to tell it's very purposefully so; it also sounds like he's choosing his words very carefully, because he has to keep refraining from saying what he's actually thinking.]
The first thing to do would be to transport anyone already comatose to a safe location, such as the Clinic. There are a few people with supernatural healing abilities who work there or are on call; hopefully one or more of them will be willing and able to see if those who are comatose need any further help and, if so, will be able to provide it.

[Rey has experienced this similar feeling before to know who to pin it on, but it doesn't matter either way. She's not going to fall for it again; she is in charge of her own actions, regardless of what the gods try.
[After a moment, she takes a few seconds to calm her nerves as well. Arguing endlessly won't fix anything, and so long as he's making the effort, so will she. Her hackles are still raised, but now isn't the time. They have to focus.]
Can do the transport, but it might be risky if there are multiple participants still around not giving a shit about who they shoot. Might be better to set up waypoints in the city.
Know someone who can heal, if he hasn't been shot already. Will check on him and see what he can do.
[ voice ]
What do you mean by waypoints?
Alright. If he isn't able to assist, let me know and I'll see if I can contact someone else.

[Not a fun thought that Rey wants to dwell on, but she's pretty sure that she's made her point as to why this "game" is a problem.]
[ voice ]
I'd say that hopefully no one would shoot at medics, but I imagine that's wishful thinking.
[Even under the effects of the compulsion, Lance only intends to fire at people participating in the game. Besides, medics are always off-limits in any sort of battle fought with any integrity, although he really knows better than to count on such a thing here.]
[ voice ]
[It's not like "integrity" is on a lot of minds right now.]
