[at first, the picture is blurry and out of focus, but it slowly focuses in on what may be familiar surroundings to people who have been here a while, the sewing shop.
a fine layer of dust is on the surroundings, but then the picture swivels abruptly to focus on Margaery's face]
Look at all of this! [she gestures, meaning to encompas the entire sewing shop] There are enough supplies to sew entire dresses, except for the fabric. Does anyone know where I might aquire the fabric? Please let me know. I'd love to get started as soon as I can.

[ Voice ]
P-Pardon but would... hides work as a suitable material?
[ "Hides" was an alright word. Manticore hide specifically, not that he'd killed one yet. ]
[ Voice ]
I suppose so? I've never worked with it before, but I'm sure I can learn. Why, what are you looking for?

A- A cloak, maybe? Maybe a cape? Those are still... stylish, are they not? Oh! Perhaps some gloves instead! I'm not sure how much hide I'll be able to procure, but I imagine my sources won't run out anytime soon.

[ There was a long and silent pause on his end of the feed. Malkus was absolutely choking now. He completely blanked on the question. What would he like it to look like? How would he answer that? If he were to draw what he'd been visualizing, it would equate to a rough drawing of a man with a triangle on his back. That was the extent of his creative ability. ]
N-... Nice? I'm terribly sorry m'lady, I've no idea what to request. The truth is I've only known the most common of clothes, and my entire wardrobe is oilcloth and black. My associate here has described me as looking like "a tall dark potato sack".
no subject
Well, would you mind if we met here? That way, I could get your measurements and maybe have a better idea of how to style the garment.

[ The scuffling shuffle of a gangly birdman running aimlessly could be heard. It would be much easier to explain his odd stature and strange limbs in person. ]
The... the sewing shop. That's... one moment.
[ The feed ended as he referred to the map. Within a couple of moments, his voice chimed over the feed once more. ]
Yes, there! I shall make my way for the shop!

--> [ Action ]
The doctor skulked in, hunched with his hat obscuring some of that bone white mask he wore. He wasn't certain that this was the correct shop, so he remained quiet as he lumbered around. It only served to add to his potentially unsettling appearance. ]
Q-Quite dusty... G-Goodness.

Hello! I assume you're the one I've been talking with? And, yes, it is quite dusty in here. I suppose I'll need to give it a thorough cleaning.
no subject
Indeed, I am! I-I hope I'm not intruding.
[ After a moment he realized that wasn't necessary, as he'd just said he was coming over. ]
A-Ah, I'm Malkus Iverwelling. I-I can assist with any cleaning, of course! Th-The least I can do for any sewing aid.
no subject
No, not at all! I wouldn't have said anything if I wasn't expecting a few visitors.
It's my pleasure to meet you, Malkus. My name is Margaery Tyrell, Queen of the Seven Kingdoms. And that's very sweet of you to offer! I'd be more than happy to have assistance, though it's not required in exchange for a garment. Now, you said something about a cloak, didn't you?
no subject
[ A queen?! Not just a queen, but apparently a queen of seven damned kingdoms? Malkus choked, eyes widening enough to bring tears to them. He quickly pulled his hat off and dipped even lower. ]
My lady! I- Is that the way to address a queen-
[ Oh god, what was the protocol for that? He'd been in front of nobility once. Even been to a fancy party once upon a time. But being before royalty of this gravity felt almost terrifying. ]
I-I'm sorry, what was I saying? O-Oh yes, of course, a cloak- I did!
[ He laced his fingers together, barely even able to consider what he'd requested before. ]
no subject
Marg is a little startled by his strong reaction] Please, there's no need. While I'm here, I'm just another person. I just--use my title because it reminds me of home.
[Margaery smiles encouragingly and tries to meet his eyes, hoping he'll see sincerity in them. she hopes she can be sincere in the first place]
Yes, a cloak! Of some sort of hides you'd been collecting, am I right?
no subject
I-It's just difficult to think, hard to believe, that someone like you would ever stoop to producing a garment for me. But yes! Manti- er manticore? Manticore? The hides of a large beast I'd found slain in the caves.
[ Malkus gestured, spreading his arms wide to emphasize how much he'd managed to harvest from such a monstrous body. ]
So much stuff in those caves, that people just leave wherever it may drop! But this monster seemed stitched together by the hands of the devil himself! I imagine it'd be interesting to work with. A "neat" story, I think.
no subject
Well, I do need something to do with myself while I'm here. Since I can sew, I might as well do that. Besides, I'm making a few dresses for myself, too. The selection in the shops just isn't--suitable.
[she assumes that's how much hide she'll have to work with. it should be plenty]
You go into the caves? I could never do that. I'm helpless when it comes to defending myself.
no subject
[ He certainly preferred thicker leathers and such to fabric anyway. Much easier to clean and wipe viscera off of. In regards to her second question, he puffed up. Malkus swelled his chest, which didn't do much to chance his gangly appearance. ]
It takes some courage, but luckily I'm quite tough! L-Looks can be deceiving, but never you worry about those beasts! I've slain quite a few monsters!
[ Mostly those little dancing mushroom creatures... Malkus left the proper fighting to whoever he'd go into the caves with. He was more of a scientist, but he'd take this opportunity to showboat. ]
no subject
[that's the total opposite from Margaery, who prefers silks to leather. leather is for the North, where they need the extra warmth. and she's gotten used to his appearance by now]
That's very good of you. Those of us who cannot fight should be grateful.
[dancing mushroom creatures still count]

[ Malkus adjusted his mask, tugging at the straps to line his lens back up with his eyes. He seemed to preen quite often for a muck covered plague doctor. Especially one who'd spent decades in a wasteland with only his flock for company. ]
The Guard protect much more than I, but I like to think I do well enough. Emotional mischief aside, you are safe in Hadriel.
no subject
[it's okay, Margaery preens a lot for a former queen trapped in a mudercave]
I'm glad. I don't have any real means of self-defense. Ladies weren't expected to know such things in Westeros.
no subject
[ Malkus tripped over his words at the end, feeling a bit ashamed at how casually he'd speak of his home being plagued. ]
Hard to defend against emotional twisting, unfortunately. But I have heard that a strong will can do much to lessen their pull! Don't need weapon skill for that, I don't think! Just a strong mind.
[ In other words, Malkus was doomed to get wrapped up in every emotional event. ]
no subject
[well, Margaery is assuming a blight on crops]
Well, if there's one thing I've always prided myself on, it's my mind. Not to sound like I'm bragging, but I've always been clever.
