A friend brought up an interesting point; one that I do not think many have considered. In our world, it is common for women to wear dresses - or, at the very least, skirts - and for men to wear pants. Why do you think the practice differs in other worlds? Is it simply for convenience's sake? Does it have to do with the environment or are your worlds particularly combative?

If women need to fight, I cannot imagine them doing so in long dresses!

(There was a time she would not have been caught dead in pants, but they have a use. Arya had been right.)

They killed each other, I think. Tyelko was beyond speech, and she was gone, by the time I found them. She was a queen defending her kingdom and a mother protecting her children. We should never have attacked Doriath. But we had no choice - it was Doriath or Angband, and how could any of us asked Maedhros to face that terror again?

(She has made herself familiar with as much of their story as possible. As such, she knows she is biased in feeling more sympathy for him; for his brothers. She should side with Lady Nimloth, perhaps, but her heart will not allow it.)

I'm sorry for making you speak of such dark times. Your brother will never return to Angband or any place like it. He will always have a friend if I can help it.

I would like to make it less so in the present.

(She looks pale and resolved.)

I know why you love him so and I know why he loves you. I am happy aiding you in any way I can, though I know I lack experience.

[ he looks startled and then he smiles ]

Do you think it a kindness that you love your family?

We are going in circles.

[ He laughs softly ]

So we are! But I won't argue that you are less than wonderful, Sansa.
