I've been through this before. I've been targeted on a hit list like this, precisely five days before I arrived in this world.

I guessed from the wording of the Null broadcast that some people might not have seen that they were named as targets. Consider this fair warning to everyone in this city: the Null would rather kill you than work with you.

[a pause, and then his tone turns positively savage]

As I did before, I'll do again. My only target is the one putting out the hit list. I will destroy the Null and anyone who tries to kill us. Anyone who'd foolishly sacrifice our chances of getting home for this death game should be dealt with, and I have no problem doing so.

[addendum message, five minutes later:]

I've been blocked from the message. Anyone who was quick enough to copy it, we'd appreciate a public airing of the names on the list.

I have zero experience in coordinating groups but I'm sure we can figure out something. Maybe we could make a public announcement looking for some people intersted in guarding others?

Ah... but how do we know who is really trying to protect and who isn't just attempting to approach the targets?

I suppose that depends on who's smart enough to play the Null against themselves, and then bring us the information we need.

I admit i'm really worried about this situation, part of me hopes to find out no one agreed with that... deal.

I won't tell you not to, but at least worrying will probably give Fear some extra power. He might need it.

If the gods were right and there's a traitor among us, someone already has.

Keep your hopes up as well, we may need to feed him some extra power as well. Hopefully that won't be the case but we can't really know.

I somehow find hard to believe we have a traitor in our ranks... and I will be completely honest, I don't trust the gods either.

I believe it. But in a situation like this, it doesn't matter. Even if we can't trust, we have to work together toward a common goal. That being, getting out of here without dying for someone else's war.

Whether we like it or not this is our war as well, we're the third party thrown in the middle of the battlefield who didn't ask for this and we should probably start making it clear we're not just little pretty ethers or personal killers.

... question, then: why would the Null try to find someone fit to take the weapon testing us and making most of the city turn against them if they already had a mole between us? Wouldn't it be way more discreet having them do the whole work without raising questions or suspicion?

That's a very good question. One I intend to mull over if I'm given the chance. [beat] And can get some damn sleep for one night.
