"A friend told me to be wary of my life." Maglor's voice is almost merry. But there's a ring to it, an edge that draws attention.

"Slain ye shall be they warned us and we were, oh we were. O my brothers, my cousins, my bright kin! Three Ages of the world and all those I loved died around me and yet I am still here."

Maglor throws out his hands and laughs, his eyes burning silver bright and fey and his voice with a shine to it like the polished edge of a blade.

"Three Ages we stood against our Enemy and all he could throw at us, and paid in blood for every inch we held against him. But we held! Dragonfire and Balrogs and betrayal of kin and ally, but he is defeated and I remain. And now you would name me enemy? Come then and let us see if you can do what the Enemy of the World could not! But."

And his voice drops to a low croon, darkly caressing, promise in every word.

"Anyone who touches my family dies."

Uncle... (He will stand with him; that is a given. But he worries.) We are all grown. I do not think we need death threats to protect us.

[ Maglor hums back ]

Where are you, Uncle? Are you in the house? (You're about to have company.)

(He makes no response; instead he seeks out Maglor and leans against his uncle's side.)

What am I to do with you?

[ Maglor blinks at him and pulls him close ]

Whatever you want?

(His arm slips around Maglor's waist and he shakes his head slightly.)

I would never let someone hunt you; I would never let them touch you.

You must admit we have a history of that.

But not a present or future! (That's a plus? He grins and motions at his legs. He is standing without the aid of a cane or a staff!)

(He blushes and glances down shyly. This great Lord of Eregion is feeling a mite bashful.)

He is so kind about it. I expect that of him, of course, but I haven't shown anyone besides Atar the full extent of...the scarring.

Nor will any of us ask it of you. [ Maglor kisses his brow gently ]

But do not be ashamed of them! Your scars do not define you.

(He grips onto Maglor's sleeve, humming.)

They feel as if they do some days! But he has lessened the intensity by far. I may look like I should be a corpse, but I no longer feel like one.

My beautiful nephew. [ He says fondly, twining his own song with his ]

For so you remain - do not argue! I look at your scars and I see your strength. Just as Maedhros did, my dear one, you defied our enemy, and I am so proud.

(He draws Maglor's hands to his chest, embracing them gently.)

I think you must have trouble with your eyes. But when I see Uncle Nelyo's scars or yours or Atar's, I do think them beautiful too.

Mine are ill won. Not at all like yours or Nelyo's! Scars gained from thivery are never lovely.

They belong to you; they are lovely. (Celebrimbor smiles unapologetically.)
