In a departure from the statements of defiance and aggression that have been the city's focus since the Null's most recent communication, I am happy to announce that I have finished writing a book: ~~Bone Deep~~. Note: I have changed the title of the book to Written in Bone. This is a more suitable title.

It is a crime novel featuring applied forensic anthropology to assist federal law enforcement in murder investigations. The science is, of course, accurate, but for those who are more interested in characters, there is quite a lot of dialogue and fluff to denote the passage of time. I am told it is quite engaging and even stimulating.

A clean copy is available in the library. I hope it will serve as an adequate recreational activity for those who would like a temporary escape from the rather chaotic events unfolding in this underground city.

[OOC: "fluff" = "smut". Smut between leading lady Dr. Kathy Reichs and leading man Agent Andy Lester. To Brennan's eternal disappointment, most of her readers back home find the characters and "fluff" more interesting than the science. >:c Also, it's known in canon that her characters are inspired by her real life colleagues, so if your character would make that leap, they wouldn't be the first.]

I do not know what kind of romance novels your mom reads, but my book is a crime novel, not a romance novel, so no.

There is kissing, yes. And sex, though it is not in a shower or a hot tub, so it is not steamy.

It was largely due to the lack of representation of forensic anthropology's contributions to murder investigations. I have the knowledge and the experience to fill that void, so I did.

is it good? Are there fights? why did you want to make a book when you could just write a boring paper?

It is very good. There is combat in this one. I write papers for academic journals. This is for the general public; therefore, an academic paper would be inaccessible and inappropriate.

does the main guy everyone's ass? you should have him do that. and get superpowers!

and you should name someone in your book richie. It would be the best course of action, I think.

Andy Lester is a trained FBI agent, so yes, he does fight. But so does Dr. Kathy Reichs. They do not have superpowers. Everything they do is humanly possible, although many people think Dr. Reichs's intelligence is super human.

Perhaps I will name a victim Richie.

WAIT no you have to name like, the cool cop Richie. You have to rename him. I don't wanna just DIE in your book that's lame.

There is no need to feel bad for him. He is not real.

I cannot rename him! He is far too widely known by now. What if I kill the Richie in the next book in a very memorable way?

That is an interesting plot. [Also Too Real, considering she was brought here after being on the run, but it is still an interesting plot.] I can work with that.

However, the murders are solved through teamwork between Andy and Kathy. That is non-negotiable.
