To the Null:

I've been in an unending war before.

If it's war you want, it's war you'll get.

But first, you'll have to stop cowering behind these devices with your threats, and forcing innocent people to do your bidding. Fight your own battles.

I will not rest until I've hunted down every last one of you Null, and personally stuck my lance in your backs. I will hunt you down with all I have. I will make you regret every threat you've made, and I will become your worst enemy.

Good luck evading me. I'm coming for you cowards.

Hi, there. Excuse me, sorry for the interruption.

But is it really a good idea to go charging headfirst into this the way you're doing? Provoking the enemy is one thing, but... well, this is a small, enclosed area with a limited number of people. If you instigate them this way, don't you think you'll be putting those of us who aren't on that list in danger?

[Look, he doesn't approve of the list, either. But starting a war over it should be a last resort, not a first. Such is the life of a pacifist.]

Don't worry too much. I'm not seeking to get anyone else involved, just myself and those who are prepared to fight. Anyone incapable of self defense should stay out of it, under heavy guard.

But I disagree that we shouldn't provoke a fight. What they're doing is sinister and cowardly, turning us against each other. No. An open battle is the best way to settle things, once and for all.

I'm not saying you're wrong. I believe your suspicions are entirely valid. However, in war, there is no such thing as escaping without casualties of the innocent. [Trust him, he knows this.] Under heavy guard or not. I'm not saying try to reason with them, but that you should perhaps attempt to find a different angle to approach this with.

That's all too true. Yet what other choice do we have?

They've already started this conflict, and they've threatened the innocent as well. It's already started. They would have us fight each other, anyway... it's only a matter of time before someone starts spilling blood. Why not ensure that their blood is spilled as well?

Well, you need to take a step back. From what I could see, they only seem to need one supporter. If no one goes off and kills anyone, then these Null might withdraw. I don't think they'll be able to accomplish anything unless someone uses this 'God Killer' they're talking about.

And, I could also see that there weren't alot of supporters. Maybe we should focus on just protecting the people who have their names on that list. And if we can stop any of those attacks, the Null might not be able to do anything. Why else would they rely on us otherwise?

Perhaps. But I don't trust that the people here won't be foolish enough to try lending their support. Not to mention, I'm sure there are many among us who would be tempted by the thought of killing gods. There may not have been many supporters, but... it still takes only one. Only one among us to play right into their hands.

Do you really think these Null will simply leave us alone if we do nothing? I highly doubt that. They'll find some other tactic to try on us next, it's only a matter of time.

They're relying on us, because apparently they can't be bothered to fight their own battles. I've seen such tactics before. It's spineless.

[He is, of course, actually doing this as a plan to protect others, making himself a target, hopefully.]

I'm certainly not proposing we do nothing. If we resist, the Null will probably come back with something stronger. I'm simply stating that we should buy time to form a better tactic. Surely charging head on into the unpredictable isn't the only way to retaliate. What if retaliation is playing into their hands? I'm certainly not a strategist but what if it could be some form of reverse psychology, in which they're manipulating people to come after them.

There were children on that list, after all. It might not be too far-fetched.

Perhaps. But goading them is still a valuable strategy, regardless. An enemy like this is too dangerous to ignore, and drawing them out may be the only way to finally settle this, once and for all. They may well continue what they're doing indefinitely, if the status quo isn't shifted.

It doesn't mean we cannot have further strategies in place as well. But I have no doubt that this will end in open conflict, so those are the tactics we must ultimately prepare.

You're one of those then. Alright, I clearly can't convince you otherwise. Do what you need to and what you can. Hopefully your plan will work.]

I'm not the only one with a plan for this... nor could any one person handle this entirely alone. Let's just hope that our combined efforts will be enough.

No one, yet, but I wouldn't count it out. It will have to come to open combat, sooner or later... Whether or not that's the scale of a full war remains to be seen. They cannot cower away manipulating us indefinitely. Sooner or later... something has to happen.

Has anyone actually said where they are?

Not yet, but I'm sure it's only a matter of time. I've been exploring the deepest caves, trying to find out what I can.

If you're up for it, I wouldn't mind. I've been covering some deep areas where plenty of monsters lurk... but I'm sure you're up for dealing with that.

Hell yeah, Barkspawn and I live for that stuff. If it's darkspawn, we've especially got that covered.

I don't know if I've met anything quite like that, but I've seen some monsters that I would probably give such a label to. Who knows what might be found out here?

Good, and I'll look forward to fighting at your side. Sooner or later, even cowards like these are bound to show their faces. We'd better be prepared for that.

[At least he's finally had some success in getting himself added to that very list. As a Guard member, he feels it his duty to make sure that happens. Better they target him and others who can fight, than helpless people, than children.]

While the Null are quick to put people on their lists for opposition, I do not think instigating war is a good idea, Kain.

[You are reckless, friend. Privately, she does approve of how many people are blatantly defying the Null. That makes it easier for her to know who isn't liable to stick a knife in her back when she turns on the Null.]

Yet it's better to let them act like cowards, forcing us to do their dirty work for them? No. I don't think so. They ought to face us openly if they're so against our existence. Those of us capable of fighting, will be able to handle it.

They did state that they were against the gods' existence, not ours. The people on their list were people who they decided were defying them rather than remaining neutral.

That being said, it does seem rather easy to land oneself on their hitlist, does it not? I would have expected beings of logic to take insults less personally.

They claim to be against the gods, yet they incite us to attack one another. That's hardly helpful. At this point, the gods have done more for us than they ever have. And I've never liked the gods.

It's certainly strange. Apparently they must fear us enough to feel threatened somehow. Or perhaps they're just using this as some excuse to divide us against each other.

They have stated that they intend to weaken Hope. Having to revive people takes energy from him, so killing people who oppose them serves the dual purpose of potentially taking them out of commission when the Null arrive as well as weakening Hope.

[She doesn't mind discussing it from a tactical point. The key thing she's avoiding is any mention that she might oppose the Null.]

Dividing us would also make it easier on them to attack because we would be uncoordinated.

It certainly does seem an effective strategy, a means to weaken us. But it's still pathetic, in my way of seeing it. They ought to be able to face us as we are, without thinning the field first. They've simply been all talk and no action, so far.

I for one cannot wait for their arrival. It's time we put them in their place.

Tacticly sound strategy and bravery do not always go hand in hand.

It still makes them no less pathetic. I cannot respect their strategy.
