[Matt is notably less enraged than the last time he popped up on the network. Hell, he even manages a smile this time. No dark glasses, no immediate evidence of his blindness. He's dressed casually as far as anyone can tell -- t-shirt visible in the shoulders-up view the camera offers. He's a bit uncentered on the feed, but other than that.]
So I've mentioned it to several of you already -- that it might not be a bad idea for people to learn a bit of self defense. Especially people who aren't used to fighting, or people who aren't used to relying on physical strength.
Doesn't matter how old or young you are, how big or small, man or woman or anything in between.
[So. Here he is.]
I took some time to find a decent space. It's run down, but I've managed to clear it out. Got a couple things that'll do as mats and pads. So here it is.
Anyone interested in self defense, I'm teaching. Ways to get out of holds, quick escapes, ways to use an attacker's size against them. [A faintly sheepish smile.] I learned to fight as a kid, so it's never to early.
Any takers?

[And anyone who doesn't feel like talking, can feel free to show up at the location Matt provided for some hand to hand training. Matt will be there, wishing he had a heavy bag to go a few rounds with.]

He stands up when Margaery enters, straightening up and turning towards the door. There she is.]
Great, then let's get going. [He holds a hand out towards her. (Moments like this really, if Margaery is wearing that are moments Matt doesn't even know how much he misses sight).]

she can't help but smile when his attention is turned toward her. even if he can't see it, he makes her smile]
All right, what shall we start with? [she takes his hand and gives it a gentle squeeze (well, he'll get to find out how it feels once he gets her in a hold of some kind?)]

Let's start with breaking away from a hold. Sound good? The goal is to get free and get out. Running is better than fighting if you can manage it. So the priority if anyone ever grabs you is to break free and put distance between you.
Here, back to me. [He releases her hands and sets his other hand on her shoulder as he moves around behind her.] Ready?
no subject
That sounds fine. I'm quick on my feet when I need to be. Unfortunately, [her tone turns faux-haughty] proper young ladies of Westeros weren't supposed to run. [her tone goes back to normal] I was very good at being a proper young lady of Westeros except for that. I had to catch up to Loras somehow.
[her tone turns teasing] My, how forward! [back to normal] Ready.
no subject
It's about to get a great deal more forward.
[He informs her before he's stepping closer. He moves in to wrap one arm around her shoulders from behind, slow motion, but a demonstration of how someone might make a grab for her, forearm braced across her shoulders, just below her neck.]
All right. IF someone comes from behind you, if they catch you off-guard, the most important thing to do is get away. Put space between you and them. I'm bigger than you, stronger than you, but being this close I've put some of my weakest points right in your reach.
no subject
[she lets herself be put in the hold, focusing on his instructions instead of his closeness]
What would those weakest points be? Your face? Or your neck?
