This has got to be some fucked up purgatory, right? [ He rolls his eyes before anyone can show him the guide. He's read it. Thoroughly. And it all sounds like a round of bullshit. But who can call bullshit when you've got a death god on your side, right? Not that Ryuk is here. He clutches a dark, worn notebook to his chest, only the back visible. ]

I mean, I've seen some really fucked up shit, all right? The kind that won't go away or disappear when it's all over. [ He's speaking a little faster now, nervous. ]

I'm in an underground cave that pulls chaotic creatures in through some fucked up Door. [ He shakes his as he laughs in disbelief. ] It's gotta be the fucking morphine.

Also, were those fucking velociraptors?  I have to be fucking dead.

I know exactly what you mean. I had almost the same thought when I got here and nearly got skewered by a gigantic grenade lobbing, gun toting, armored lobster. I'm actually surprised you made it out of the Colosseum if there were raptors.

[ because anyone who's seen Jurassic Park knows the only way to actually survive a raptor attack is hope there's a T-Rex just around the corner waiting to save your ass. ]

That's more fucked than velociraptors and you're surprised I made it out. [ He really can't tell if Dean is joking about the lobster creatures or not, but, judging from everything he's read, it wouldn't surprise him. ]

Raptors are fast but they're not big. All it takes is a good couple hits from an IV stand to get them to hunt for easier prey.

Hey. I've seen Jurassic Park. Anybody who can survive a raptor attack has to be pretty amazing.

[ he paused ]

Did you just say you whacked it with an IV stand?

[ color him, incredulous! ]

I'd been in the hospital before I got here. [ He explains. ] ...had just woken from a coma. I think I was pretty lucky that my IV bag and stand came with me. It's not like I had a gun or special powers like some of the others I saw. And I wasn't going to wait for someone to come and rescue me like some damsel.

Wait, you were in a coma?

[ he paused ]

Your secret identify wouldn't happen to be superman, would it? Because if you've been laid out low, I have a hard time believing you're spry enough to not just beat up a raptor, but also get the heck out of the line of fire.

[ because even Dean needed some help getting back up on his feet after he flirted for a couple of days with death you know. Being bedridden ain't for the weak.

... Then again, when Dean got here, Dean pretty much was the damsel in distress. At least he refused to be carried. ]

It's not like I killed one. I managed to get an IV hook in its eye and I guess they don't like to go after creatures that partially blind them. [ Also, it's not like he did a bunch of dinosaur research one night when he was bored. He got to see something most scientists could only dream of. Maybe he'll brag on forums if he ever manages to get back home. ]

The moment the adrenaline is gone, I'm going to regret not just letting it eat me. [ But right now he wants to run. He doesn't feel safe and he's not sure he'll ever feel that way here. ]

Right. In that case, I suppose I should let you know where the medical center is. Just in case you have a relapse of unconsciousness.

[ he paused ]

Although I have to admit, you've got both some pretty great luck and some rather shitty luck all at the same time. [ the former for getting that eyehook in, the latter for being here at all. ] You sure you ain't pulling my chain on the whole just woke up thing?

I'm pretty positive. It's possible that the Door pulled me in at a time where my body is in a better condition than it had been at home but that pinching feeling in my ribs is telling me that's a big fat ass no.

A coma is small fries to all this shit, you know? It's not like I was out long, I made sure of that.
