[The screen pixelates when the transmission starts, and continues to be distorted for another few seconds before Alphys appears in a burst of static. It's a hackneyed attempt at getting the Null out from this post, but not foolproof. When the feed starts, it's obvious she's in the lab, but it's an absolute wreck; there are hastily patched holes in the walls with rocks and rubble, and it's obvious the Null have been through already in the days previous. The camera is set on her worktable, broadcasting from about her waist up, and in front of her is a number of papers, debris, and recognizably one of the Null's central processors, removed from a discarded body.

She looks scared. Horribly so. But she can't keep hiding when the sky's falling down.]

Okay, so, uh-- hey, uhm, I'm Alphys, Dr. Alphys, and I do... robot things, sometimes, so--

[She fidgets with her hands, looks around on the table for something, and grabs the processor, showing it to the camera.]

I managed to remove this from, uhm, one of the Null, and I think I might've made some k-kill codes for them? They'll only work once and, uh, the network will probably adapt, but these should freeze their processors for a little bit, or at least some in, uh, a range-- hook it up to something that broadcasts and it should disable them for a minute or two. They've only got one use though so uh, sorry if someone already gets them.

[She grabs the device, clicking in a few buttons and a file is attached, containing five or six long executable files.]

I think I can work their weapons to another power source, too, so... if you have a-anything, I can try to make it fire, but I can't leave the lab.

[Just as she says that, there's a loud bang outside, and she winces, ducking down behind the desk as the device falls on it's side, displaying only her eyes, head spines, and the tips of her fingers holding the counter.]

And uh if no one's doing anything it would be great if someone could uh, clear them out? For a bit? They haven't found me in here yet, but uhm, it's been... not great!

[There's another noise, and she squeaks a bit, grabbing the device and ducking behind the counter. She tries to smile at the feed, but she still looks very, very nervous.]

[That might not be entirely true, bit Ravine isn't going to just say that. That's a spoiler!]

They can't-- wait, is that all the time??

[She remembers the dream, when Ravine was the only one who could see her. Is that how it works?]

Won't they target you? For, h-helping me?

Only when I do not want it to.

[Most of the time, people are better off not seeing her. Others, she has no choice but to be seen. She can try, though.]

And perhaps they will, but it makes no difference to me. I would rather die twice doing something than exist to do nothing.

[It comes out pretty awestruck, and shr blushes, averting her eyes from the camera.]

I mean, uhm-- yeah! That's really noble and, uhm, everything, and-- you k-know where the lab is, right?

[How adorable. But rather than teasing and making the poor little lady into a tomato, Ravine just smiles.]

I do. I will be there in a manner of seconds.

[Travel is easier when you don't have a body.]

Okay! I'll, uh... be here!!!

[She has no idea how this is going to work. Will Ravine just materialize in here?? Gosh, does she even have a place to do that with all this junk? Alphys hopes its not weird.

But she stands like, really still, just in case.]

[Well, Ravine doesn't materialize so much as emerge from the shadowy corner of the lab. She is careful not to step out within Alphys' line of sight, as a glowing yellow-eyed entity slowly creeping out of a wall isn't the most welcoming entrance for a lot of people.

[After a few seconds, she regains her appearance, and Ravine is Ravine again. Alphys will then find a woman, dressed in red and black and all in her six-foot-eight glory, looming behind her.]

And I am here. [Sup.]

[She squeaks in surprise as soon as Ravine's voice echoes through, whipping around and nearly smacking Ravine's legs with her tail as she turns. She's clutching at her labcoat for a moment, but the fear subsides quickly into a bit of nervous laughter.]

Okay, so you just! Appear! That's nice! Great!

[SHESFINE.JPG. In the meantime, Alphys looks up at her, attempting something that looks more like a smile.]

[It doesn't help that her steps are light, avoiding any noisy clatter to shock Alphys in a completely different way. For someone who doesn't tend to knock or use doors, however, it's inevitable that Ravine would give the poor lizard a fright.

[Unfazed by her nervous response, Ravine just smiles downward.]

It is no trouble.

[She doesn't give it a moment's thought before Ravine gets down to the heart of the matter:] Right, then. I shall keep watch for you outside. If any machine men come, you will be warned. Deal?

[She's nervous at literally everything, Ravine. Even if you tried she'd probably have gotten spooked. Regardless, she nods, pressing her little hands together.]

Absolutely, uhm-- the main part I'm trying to keep safe is this air duct, over here. I haven't been using the doors, cuz uh, the Null can fit through them.

[She points towards one end of the lab, where what looks like one end of a tube opens. It snakes almost directly outward, though is mostly buried on the other side.]
