[So the fighting may be over, but that doesn't mean everything is going to be immediately fine. Finally having the time to really think about everything that's happened, and for everything to sink in, is going to make the next few days and weeks just as much of a challenge for some here as the last have been, if not more so.

But that is, hopefully, something he can help with, if at least a little. And there are new arrivals as well, who not only had to deal with the end of the invasion but also everything that goes along with suddenly finding themselves in an entirely new world, not to mention the sudden setting change too.

So he's trying to look as composed and calm as possible, which is a bit of a struggle since--like pretty much everyone else--he's exhausted and didn't get out of the whole ordeal with the Null entirely unscathed. Compared to some people he definitely fared better, but there's still a pretty obvious bruise across his cheekbone and around his eye; it's not too serious, but the main problem is that it's also not very helpful in looking as professional and put together as he's trying to appear.

Still, he's doing his best, and he lifts his chin a little and takes a deep breath before speaking.]

If anyone is injured, or just in need of somewhere safe to rest, the hot springs and the fire station are both serving as temporary locations for the clinic. Additionally, considering the seriousness and extent of everything that's happened in the last few weeks as well as the arrival of new people, it's worth reiterating that I'm a psychologist and so if anyone wants to talk, whether about recent events or otherwise, I'm available to meet.

[A short pause.]

I'm... Not exactly sure where, since my office doesn't exist anymore, and I probably should've thought about this before making this announcement...

[That would've been good planning, if he weren't so tired and scattered, but okay, refocus--]

[He can't quite tell if Jordan's worried about the idea of having to talk to someone, or about potentially not being able to, but hopefully that will reassure him either way.]

That'd be great. [He can do his own physical therapy too but...] So this clinic... Are there any supplies from it? My forearm crutches aren't here with me...

I did, yeah. I... [He pauses, trying to think about how to phrase this carefully.] I have something here with me that I've kept a secret from almost everyone in my... universe or dimension or whatever it is, because it would get taken away from me if people knew. ... I just got here so I don't know who to trust with that. And it's not something that's easily hidden either. I don't want anything to happen to it.

[Alright, all of that indicates this should be a private conversation, so he'll just go ahead and turn the filter on just in case.]

The clinic is probably not well stocked at the moment, due to everything that happened recently, but if you're injured or have a health condition we'll figured something out.

[There are all sorts of reasons why someone might need forearm crutches, after all. And as for the rest of that--]

Okay. You don't have to tell me what it is, but when you say it isn't easily hidden, is it an actual object or something else? If it's an object, would you be able to hide it if you had an apartment of your own?

[Because making sure new arrivals, especially those who appear to be teenagers, have somewhere safe to stay is already a priority and if that solves another problem at the same time then all the better.]

I'm sort of permanently injured; I've got no feeling from my knees down. I have my wheelchair here so I can get around but I use forearm crutches when I don't have to travel very far so my legs don't start atrophying.

It's, uh... This might sound a little crazy, but it's a dragon. He's about the size of a horse so I'm not sure he would be able to fit into an apartment, unless it had a really big doorway. He's my friend but our souls are also connected so... I really really don't want anything to happen to him or for someone to try and take him away somewhere else.

[Well, at least he has the wheelchair for now. Lance isn't sure whether to bring up the possibility of healing or not, especially since the healers here probably need some rest after the Null attack and so won't be available for awhile, and so decides to wait until the option is more viable and Jordan's had more time to adjust to being here.]

Okay. Once everyone has had some time to recover from recent events, I believe there are people here who could make crutches for you.

[There's plenty of metal from the Null, and he thinks Curufin can probably handle the shaping of it.

And... You know, he's not even going to question the dragon thing. That's the least weird problem he's heard in awhile.]

You may not need to worry about that as much here; it's unlikely anyone would try to take him, at least going by that there haven't been any problems of that sort here that I know of.

I don't have any way of paying for them with money but I'm sure there's something I can do for payment, if someone can.

If you say so. [He still doesn't sound blindly trusting but... it does set him at ease a tiny little bit more, at least. He won't be too worried about someone coming in and tranquilizing them to split them apart or something like that now.] Do you know of any place he might be able to fit in I could stay at...? [Ladon always slept out in the barn back on the farm but this place is completely unfamiliar so he's reluctant to let Ladon even out of his sight here.]

There isn't any money here in general; people generally trade if necessary, although I doubt it would be in this situation.

[He doesn't think the people he'd talk to about the subject would charge someone for crutches that they genuinely need, and even if they would Lance is pretty sure he could talk them out of it.

As far as his other question, Lance thinks about it for a moment but nothing is really coming to mind.]

Maybe one of the free-standing houses, although I don't know if he'd be able to fit through the door. I'm not sure how large they are.

Trading works. [Even if it's just his time doing something to help someone out, and he says it a bit stubbornly, not wanting to just take something like that for free, especially if it's something someone has to spend time making.]

Well, I suppose he can always just make the door bigger... [He says it with a little grin to show he's joking. ... Half joking, at least.] I'll find something that'll work.

That's always a possibility; it's not like anyone owns the unclaimed places, so no one's going to go after you for damaging your own house.

[So hopefully he can indeed just enlarge the door and be done with it.]
