[So the fighting may be over, but that doesn't mean everything is going to be immediately fine. Finally having the time to really think about everything that's happened, and for everything to sink in, is going to make the next few days and weeks just as much of a challenge for some here as the last have been, if not more so.

But that is, hopefully, something he can help with, if at least a little. And there are new arrivals as well, who not only had to deal with the end of the invasion but also everything that goes along with suddenly finding themselves in an entirely new world, not to mention the sudden setting change too.

So he's trying to look as composed and calm as possible, which is a bit of a struggle since--like pretty much everyone else--he's exhausted and didn't get out of the whole ordeal with the Null entirely unscathed. Compared to some people he definitely fared better, but there's still a pretty obvious bruise across his cheekbone and around his eye; it's not too serious, but the main problem is that it's also not very helpful in looking as professional and put together as he's trying to appear.

Still, he's doing his best, and he lifts his chin a little and takes a deep breath before speaking.]

If anyone is injured, or just in need of somewhere safe to rest, the hot springs and the fire station are both serving as temporary locations for the clinic. Additionally, considering the seriousness and extent of everything that's happened in the last few weeks as well as the arrival of new people, it's worth reiterating that I'm a psychologist and so if anyone wants to talk, whether about recent events or otherwise, I'm available to meet.

[A short pause.]

I'm... Not exactly sure where, since my office doesn't exist anymore, and I probably should've thought about this before making this announcement...

[That would've been good planning, if he weren't so tired and scattered, but okay, refocus--]

[And he includes a brief explanation of how to make a conversation private. With all of that out of the way, he'll put a filter on the post himself and add another message.]

[Or is he thirty, with the birthday thing? Who knows.]

You have a boyfriend here, right?

[He wasn't her boyfriend until very recently, but people have been assuming that for months, so she's not very surprised by the question.]

Um, yeah. Wash. Do you know him?

[Don't turn the teasing around on her, Lance. She'll die.]

[He shakes his head, which--considering he's lying on the floor--looks utterly ridiculous. But who cares!!!]

I've never met him. What's he like?

[He's heard stories from Ephemera, but there are always multiple sides and he wants to hear what Kyna thinks. She's the one with the guy, after all.]

He's...

[She hesitates, biting her lip. Where does she start?]

He's really sweet, and he's kind of a huge dork.

[She smiles a little.]

And his hair's always a mess.

[Even drunk, Lance takes note of that description and how she gives it, even if what he says is totally useless--]

Wow, you said I looked lovesick; when the messy hair's a good thing you totally have it bad.

[He's losing his ability to speak without using ridiculous language; he drank way too much.]

[She shifts awkwardly so that she can sort of kick him. Considering she's sitting down, it's not a very effective attempt.]

God, shut up. It's cute, okay?

[The fact that she's not dying of embarrassment is proof that she's drunk, really.]

Ow, hey.

[It's a complaint that's only based on the principle of the thing, considering the kick doesn't hurt at all, and he laughs a little again.]

I'll take your word for it, until I can meet him and judge him myself.

[And he will totally judge hard.]

Judge him? Why are you gonna judge him?

I'm a psychologist. I have to judge people. It's like... The thing we do.

[Only not, but you know.]

Pfft. Whatever. That's a lie and you know it.

Okay, fine, I just... Personally judge people.

[And really, isn't that warranted? You can't just blindly assume everyone's great, even if you'd like to believe they are, right?]

[She shrugs, frowning.]

Just... don't be too hard on him, okay? He hasn't had the greatest time here.

I won't unless he does something to warrant it.

[He means that, drunk or not; despite what he's heard, he's going to give Washington a fair chance. Lance won't be hard on him unless Washington gives him good reason to be.]

[Yeah, that's fair.]

[Doctor-patient confidentiality and all.]

[She makes a face at him.]

So that's totally a yes.

[Also man, one of the suns is shining in the window and it's starting to get annoying; he moves to flop an arm over his eyes, and forgets his face is bruised.]

Ow.

[It didn't actually hurt that bad, and so the whine is far more pathetic than it has any right to be.]

[She smirks at that, rolling her eyes.]

What a big baby.

[Said laughably pathetically--as well as over dramatically--from under his arm. So mean!!!]

[Fortunately, he still has enough tact not to mention that she doesn't have magic so he's a bit suspicious as to how she'd manage such a thing.]

[Kyna lifts the pendant of the necklace she's wearing. It's different from the one that's usually around her neck—this one is a stylized sunburst. Wearing her focus seems pointless when it's not actually a focus anymore, but she feels weird wearing nothing at all.]

I can't actually like... cast anything, but there's a healing spell sort of... locked in this necklace, I guess. Doesn't actually need any magic from me.

[Does she sound bitter? She's a little bitter.]

[He moves his arm enough to squint at her necklace, considering it and the offer, and yeah he can hear the bitterness even through the alcohol.]

Is it um... Limited use?

[Some things like that are, right?]

Once a day. It's fine.

[He considers it a moment, more inclined to take her up on the offer if she's willing to use the spell on his ribs instead, but then something else comes to mind.]

Does it work on hangovers?
