[Delmar is sitting in a cheerful looking room that has been done up in shades of delicate yellows and warm maroons. Seel's handiwork. As for Delmar himself, although he's been forced by the heat to relinquish his beloved sweaters and scarves in favor of a tank top, has still wrapped himself up in a pastel shawl, a way to stay cool without having to be uncovered. He doesn't mind the heat so much if he stays inside, but he cannot stand the thought of being so uncovered.

Despite this little personal dilemma, Delmar looks shy but cheerful as he gives the screen a little wave of his hand]

Hello, everyone, it's Delmar. I just wanted to make a little announcement.

[He then gestures to the room around him]

Thanks to the very very big help of the wonderful Seel the bakery is ready to open. And thanks to Mr. Hope I have a month's supply of ingredients.

[They've been in his apartment during the whole Null invasion, but to his good fortune they have survived.]

Also, if there's anyone who might be interested in helping out here please don't be shy. Everyone is welcome and I would be very grateful for the help. And if you don't know how to bake that is perfectly alright, I would be more than happy to teach you.

[He laces his fingers together before remembering something and getting up to grab something off screen]

Oh! And I've decided to name it the 'Bear Hug' Bakery [He returns into view with his two teddy bears, Harlan Jr. and the lampshade bear, Beauregard, both in knitted sweaters] I know it might sound silly but...well... [A bashful look] ...I thought it was cute.

[Laura tries for a smile, but it's shaky and a little uncertain]

I can help. I used to help with Meals on Wheels back home.

Meals on wheels?

[He looks befuddled by that]

I don't think I've ever heard of such a thing

[still looking uncertain]

It's this thing where you cook food and go around to shut-ins, elderly people delivering meals. Basically it's for anyone who can't cook for themselves. I started Twin Peaks' local chapter.

Oh how very thoughtful. That sounds like a wonderful program you were a part of.

Is Twin Peaks the town you are from?

[she's used to receiving praise, but mostly for her looks. not for anything she did for other people]

Yeah, we did a lot of good for people. I hope Norma can keep it up now that I'm gone. But I'm mostly bringing it up because I'm used to cooking for large numbers of people.
So maybe I could help at your bakery? If you still need help.

[He's beaming]

You would? That's--that's good to hear. When do you want me to start?

[she offers him a tentative smile in return]

You too, Delmar. Have you been here long?

As soon as you can, but please don't rush yourself if you are busy. I want this bakery to be a happy place, not a place for worrying.

[A little nod for emphasis]

I think its been about 3 or 4 months now. Its hard to keep track these days... Are you new, Laura?

Me, busy? [she laughs a little] There's not much to do around here, other than hang out at the Speakeasy. And that gets old after a while. Where's this bakery at?

Pretty new. I show up and boom! Everyone's going crazy over the Null.

I'm afraid you arrived at the worst time. It wasn't nearly so bad a few months ago.

[He tsks shaking his head]

And if you'd like to come over the bakery is just across the river.

Yeah? That's a relief. I don't exactly feel like dealing with killer robots and fights and death on a regular basis.
