[perhaps this is a couple of days overdue but Law was honestly hoping someone more altruistic than him would make this message. Nope. So it's up to Dr. Asshole. Also, still shirtless and yes, without his hat today.]
Obviously, it's hot.
Those of you who've been underground for more than six months - especially the ones who haven't seen the sun in years - pay attention. This information is for everyone but particularly you.
Limit your exposure. Cover your damn skin if you haven't been exposed to sunlight in a year or you're going to burn to a crisp. We can treat burns but exacerbating it will only leave you vulnerable to infection. Don't be doing anything strenuous during the hottest part of the day, save it for first thing in the morning or after the large sun goes down. And for fuck's sake drink more water than you think you need. If you don't feel thirsty that means you're already affected.
Heat exhaustion can kill. And I don't think anyone wants to be dead right now.
[and, well, if anyone hasn't quite noticed the water effects yet...] Sorrow's temple water supply is my personal choice. But don't make that trek during the blazing heat if you're nearer to a different one.

...mhm. My choice, for the most part, but it wasn't like I was going to sit back and let them have their way.

I figured. There was enough to do cleaning up on the fringes with the stragglers... and I figured I didn't need to end up your patient again. [No offense or anything dude.]
no subject
He snorts a bit.] I appreciate that. I had my hands full enough as it was.
no subject
Hey, I'll admit the limits of this body. Unlike some of the fools around here.
no subject
I can think of one in particular.
[is he going to have to go over there and pull out some eyeballs?]
no subject
I'm honestly surprised you even agreed to his scheme in the first place.
[Probably eventually, to be honest. Before Atem pisses off the wrong person. Again.]

It was after the Null's warning, he said it could help if they attacked. And it did. It wasn't anything more complicated than that.
But it's over, so somebody needs to talk him into putting the real one back.
no subject
Desperate times and measures, et cetera. [Even he won't deny that it had helped. But amusing as the whole situation is, he can also see the effect that the Eye is having on Atem.]
I'm not above knocking him out and just dragging him to your door. [In fact, Bakura would probably enjoy it, let's be real] But sure, the talking can be a thing first.
[private]
It shouldn't require me at all. He has the real eye in a jar of saline somewhere in your apartment. All you have to do is place it in the socket and it will automatically restore itself, the parts just have to be more or less aligned to stick.
That is, if removing the gold one is as easy as popping it out. If not, I'm at your call. Do whatever you have to do to him, I don't care.
[private]
And dude, floating eyeball in a jar? That's gross. We approve.]
The last person I removed it from was dead, so honestly? I didn't have to be too careful. And I wasn't. But in theory, with what you've told me about it being able to reintegrate, it should be pretty straightforward. I can call you either way: if I can convince him to do it on his own, or if I have to knock him out and do it for him.
[private]
I'd prefer you didn't kill him, only because people seem to be coming back imperfect and the last thing we need is him homicidal or missing a foot or something. [dryly; but it's a possibility]
If you'd rather have me on hand just in case, I can make a point of it. He mentioned some concern about long-term use so I think it's not outrageous of me to start noticing that maybe it's been long enough.
[private]
I didn't kill the last owner of the Eye, I was just the clean up crew. That's what I feel like here too. [But whatever. In a way, it's not too terribly different from other things he's done as a thief.]
I know you can get here fast if something goes wrong. But I'll be nice and try the diplomatic way of convincing him first.
[private]
You don't have to on my account. I'd say, the fastest route to the goal is more important than being nice. I'm sure he'd be pissed if he heard me say so but that's not my issue, it's his.
[private]
Oh, the diplomacy is more for the sake of not having to listen to him whine afterwards. My personal preference is just cold clocking him across the back of the head and having done with it.
[private]
I suppose that would probably erode whatever trust you two have. In a place like this, alliances are important to maintain. You never know when you might need to call on it.
I won't be surprised if you have to resort to Plan B, though. He's stubborn.
[private]
Trust? Heh. Can't lose something you'll never have. It's more that we understand enough of each other to call it a truce; that's all it'll ever be.
Between you and me, Plan B is quickly becoming Plan A.
[private]
Just give me enough warning if he's going to come rampaging to my door again. I'm not putting the eye back in without some kind of life or death reason.
[private]
I can force the issue with him if I have to; I have a little leverage in the deal we struck. But, pirates and thieves have to stick together, don't we? I'll warn you.
[private]
Works for me. Keep me updated even if it happens to somehow go completely smoothly without a hitch.
[private]
You know I will. Though I'm sure you'll hear him whining from miles away.
[private]
You're not even exaggerating, that's the problem.
[private]
I know. Trust me, I know.
[All the eye rolling.]
[private]
[YOU'RE GONNA NEED IT. He won't be at all surprised if he gets called in.]
[private]
[Yeah, he knows he'll need all the luck in this world and the next. But he's also not stupid; he'll call Law if he needs the backup.]
