Whenever we have been faced with disaster, she has often been among the first to volunteer to participate in dangerous missions. The most recent example of this being how she fought a tireless battle during the Null's invasion at tremendous risk to herself in order to defend both the town and its inhabitants.

The time she is taking for herself after this latest incident is well-deserved. So I must disagree with your insinuation that Miss Rey's decision to recuperate is thoughtless.

[He could say that, like several others, she has suffered hardship; he also knows that Miss Maketh was among the number of those who disappeared and that, while he won't presume it as fact without more sufficient proof, if previous events hold any truth then she and Miss Rey were at the very least friends. But anything else he has to say on the matter will most likely be disregarded, which will only serve to bring further insult to Rey. The stranger is clearly not concerned for her well-being.]

Just as those who have taken leave of their assignments are under no obligation to return before they have recovered, Miss Rey is not required to attend to her regular duties at this time. In addition, despite her absence, her establishment remains open for your patronage.

No. I have not seen Miss Rey during her respite.

[It would seem that she has remained in the private dwelling she shares with Mr. Valentine; that much he is aware of.]

[Oscar enters the establishment just a few minutes later. There aren't many people here at the moment, so finding the young man poses him no challenge. He walks over to him without delay, coming to a halt next to his booth. Then, softly:]

It's not so hard to guess this is the individual that was chatting with him not so long ago, but somehow he expected the slightly metallic voice to be a thing from the communicators... It is not incredibly surprising, given that back home he had to face a few AIs, but none of them had such humanoid vessel (he is still a little unaware of rey's nature).

「And there is a little more staring before he makes a gesture to the seat in front of him.」

[Oscar is certain that the staring is due to the mechanical nature of his appearance; his initial interactions with many people have been tempered by the same stunned silence. On this occasion, other than turning his head slightly, he doesn't react to it.

He gives a short nod and sits when he is invited to do so. He then waits for the young stranger to speak.]

「It's true that Atem cannot help but stare for a moment more, but in truth, he's thinking a little more of what his friends would say about Hadriel and its people if he told them about it, and less about the appearance of this guy. Which is admirable on its own.

He gives a little silent sigh, right, focus.」
