hadriel | Video 3 - Margaery's Apartment

[The video opens not in the Sewing Shop but in Margaery's apartment where she's sitting in the middle of her bed, a pillow clasped in her arms. she's looking down from the camera and she's in a bathrobe and nightgown, both wrinkled. her hair is disheveled and her eyes are heavily rimmed with red, as though she's spent a long time crying. which she has been. a whole day and night and a new day of crying.

she tries to look up at the camera, clear her throat and speak, but the words don't come. fresh tears well in her eyes and she looks down again, biting her lower lip.

a long moment passes with nothing but Margaery fighting back tears and silent. finally, she looks back up at the camera and speaks]

I--I thought people may want to know that Matt Murdock is no longer among us. His. His help was invaluable in the time before the Null invasion and [her voice breaks] he will be missed greatly.

[she brushes a tear off of her cheek, looking down again. she forces herself to look back up and continues]

I need to apologize to those I promised garments to. I. It will be at least another month before they're finished. I'm--I'm sorry.

[she has to take a moment to be sure that she heard correctly]

A cannibal? As in, he. . . ate their flesh?

[Abigail fidgets for a moment, making the decision not to mention that he fed them to her and her mother as well.]

He ate their organs. The bones he used for plumbing putty. He used every part of them.

[Except for one girl whose body he put back in her bed after realizing her organs were 'tainted' because of an illness she had]

That's--that's horrible. Oh, Abigail. What you must have endured.

[her voice is nothing but pure sincerity]

It was horrible. And after my parents died, someone painted the word cannibals on my home, close to the spot where my mother died. As if my mother was somehow guilty too. It wasn't fair.

People are--often unfair. Cruel.

I wish you were here, so I could embrace you.

We should meet up in person sometime. I think we could both use that hug.

[she hiccups a laugh through the sob that threatens to raise to the surface]

Indeed! We've both had a--a difficult day.

I think you had a rougher day than me. I've had more time to deal with my losses.

Yes. I truly don't know what I'm going to do without Matt. Without being loved.

You'll find a way to go on. Because you have to.

I feel kind of the same way about Hannibal being gone sometimes.

And because he wouldn't want me to just--waste away.

Hannibal is someone you love?

Hannibal is...was my guardian. He took care of me after my parents died, kept me safe and he was here too for a while. I loved him like he was my father. I wish he had been my father.

He must be a very kind man to look out for you that way.

He was very kind to me.

[It's hard to explain Hannibal. She's not sure she wants to, in case he comes back - she doesn't want him known as a killer.]

Kinder than I deserved.

[it wouldn't poison Margaery's opinion of him at all. in Westeros, everyone's a killer. either directly or indirectly]

You're being too hard on yourself, I think.

Hannibal is, or was, very special. I don't know why he picked me.

There's a core of strength in you, I think. Perhaps he saw it, too?

Maybe. There must have been something. Very few people were special to him. Just me and Will and maybe Micha.

I'm sorry I didn't have the chance to know him while he was here.

Me too. I think he would have found you special.

Me? Why is that?

You've been through the terrible things and you didn't give up.

I don't think I have it in me to give up. I've always been--very determined.

Hannibal would say that makes you a survivor.

A survivor? I suppose I am. I've had little choice? Survive King's Landing. Survive arriving here. Survive the Null. Survive [her voice breaks] losing Matt.
