Question: has anyone ever been returned to their worlds, only to be drawn back at a later stage? If so, what state where they in upon their return.

Yeah ... I got sent home and then brought back twice. The state I was in both times I came back here was pissed, though more pissed the first time than the second. After the first time ending up back here, I kinda figured it was bound to happen again.

I suppose I shouldn't be surprised to hear that that is another phenomenon that this world and it's turbulent "gods" are capable of. Is it something you've heard of happening from more than one corner?

I don't have a world. But I have been abruptly removed from this one, only to fall into its orbit again.

I wasn't injured or otherwise discombobulated by my return, unless you count my forcible separation from my ship.

idk if it's true but someone told me it's possible to go home and then get brought back here. that's how we know that time is "stopped" at home while we're here

so i guess maybe someone could go home, stay there for a long while and THEN come back?

[ To say that he's dubious about the supposed divinity of these creatures is an understatement, for all that their whimsical and inconstant natures seem to fit the role decently enough. ]

It does seem like "expect the unexpected" is the motto of this place.

Several times, now. Some remember their time spent here, some don't. It seems that it follows no particular rhyme or reason.

I think that that would more than qualify as unnerving. [ Dig deep enough into your Galactic history and you're bound to encounter the Rakata and their Infinite Empire ㅡ the Empire had fallen, as Empires tend to do, but not before having built devices that were said to be able to transport people over great distances. Teleporters.

Of course, the devices had been lost to time but it's enough to have him wondering if there isn't some way to track the Door back to whatever passes for its central hub. ]

Of course, there is still the possibility that his Master, powerful as he is, had sensed whatever disturbance the Door had created and knows anyway, but he knows better than count on that. ]

The question then becomes why they were sent back if only to return later. Whether or not it was done deliberately.

[ She might have a vested interest in asking this for her own benefit; she hasn't considered the possibility that if she does make it back, that she wouldn't be able to stay long.

She needs to stay, to steal a ship off Starkiller and back to the Resistance, and warn them of what's coming before it's too late. ]

That is wise anyway. When people become complacent, they forget that bad things can happen and are always unprepared for when they do.

That is interesting to know. That the illogical nature of this world is limited to our time here. There is one true constant here it would seem—nothing is constant.

Not until I returned. I'm not sure if that's a natural side effect of the Door or our hosts ensuring none of us lead their enemies back here. I was only away for five years. The memory alteration might have worn off, with time.

There will always be those that prefer to deny the harder realities in the hope that their denial will spare them the truth.

Personally, Ren has no plans of lingering here long enough for their embarassing lack of preparation to become a concern -- and even should he find himself trapped here for a time, has enough faith in his own training that he is sure he can weather whatever this place might choose to throw at them. ]

Given that one of them literally calls itself Confusion, perhaps it shouldn't be all that surprising.

Who can tell? I mean, they could, but they undoubtedly won't. I'd be frankly astonished if it were only the Null wanting them wiped out, wouldn't you?

Yes, denial is common for those who find the truth of the situation to be too much to handle. And yet, everyone must face reality in the long run.

No, when you put it like that, I suppose it shouldn't be surprising.
However, you sound disappointed that this is the case.

I've never been an especially religious man.

[ A man of faith, perhaps; a man of service, certainly. Regardless, even gods can die it's just a matter of finding the right tool. ]

but one with a healthy disrespect for authority. [ which suits her just fine, in this case. she and this stranger may be more alike than she'd guessed. ]

where are these pools? are you referring to the hot springs?

That would require my acknowledging their authority to begin with.
