[Atem had always reassured him no matter how dumb Delmar thought he was. Had always treated his concerns as valid, or respected them as something to be discussed. Atem had been the one to say 'I've got your back'.
This feels different, and he swallows hard, trying not to let it bother him.]
I know you want to protect people, Atem, I always believe that. Just...be careful, please.
[Whether or not he feels uncertain of his place in all this, Delmar can't not care about Atem. Not after everything they had stood by one another through.]

Delmar had never questioned him like this though, that it's ridiculous he'd go after everyone, that he's not the evil person here! Or so he wishes to say, but finds the words a bit harsh.
