[After a month or so of mostly sticking to text and voice, Lance is back to video for another network broadcast. He's still looking a little unwell, but definitely better than in his last post or any time he's spoken with someone in person since then.

He was also fortunate enough to be in his apartment when the dust storm started, so he doesn't have to camp out in some public place or with people he doesn't like. Hurray! And since pretty much everyone is stuck inside somewhere, this actually ends up being a good time to make a network post to address a few things.]

Hello, everyone. For those who just arrived or otherwise haven't met me yet, I'm Dr. Lance Sweets, and I'm a psychologist; if anyone ever needs or wants to speak to someone professionally, whether about being here or otherwise, you're welcome to send a message or call at any time.

[And that usual note out of the way--]

But I also wanted to discuss something somewhat unrelated, which is the subject of creating an organized directory of who has what skills that they're willing to teach, if asked. Many here want to learn new skills or hobbies, whether due to practicality or boredom or otherwise, but it can be difficult to figure out who to ask especially if you're new and may not want to either use the network for a general announcement, or approach someone you may not know individually.

So a list of who is willing to teach what skills, and who is alright with being asked to do so, would be beneficial a lot of people here. I can compile and maintain it as a file that can be shared.

[It's not like he's doing a whole lot at the moment, having pretty much quit working at the Clinic. He seems to briefly consider continuing with another topic but then ends the feed there; the other thing he wanted to discuss probably wouldn't go over as well as the first one, and he'd prefer everyone not get distracted.]

( Great. She looks visibly brightened by the prospect. The first few days here have been difficult. It's not like the usual places in time, where she, Noel and Mog are (likely) the only people there who can do anything. From all accounts, it sounds like many people have tried and failed.

There'll be a way to do something, she has to believe that. But still. It's a new prospect. )

Uh-huh. My name's Serah Farron. I guess I got here just in time, huh?

( Maybe this is what she can do. Help others with the skills she was using before Noel arrived in her life. )

[It's nice to see her shift in expression.]

You did. It's nice to meet you, Serah, despite the situation. What did you teach before, at home?

... A little bit of everything, I guess. We didn't have many students.

( And the village was... a lot like here, really. A lot of places were since Cocoon fell. )

[Hm, that actually gives him an idea--]

If you're used to teaching a variety of subjects, it isn't just useful that you have teaching experience in general; there are several children or teenagers here who might benefit from having the opportunity to continue learning in general, beyond just specific skills.

[And it might help them to have some sense of structure and something to focus on, even if it ends up being much less frequent or regimented than their normal schooling might be.]

( She hasn't had the fortune of meeting any of the kids yet, but she likes this idea. Look at the twinkle in those blue eyes. )

That's a great idea. Maybe— I could hold classes at my place.

( Her house has a lot of unused rooms. She may as well put them to use. )

That could work, although you may want to restore a different building instead. You may have reason or desire to modify it, and it could also be best not to have strangers in your house.

[Those are both genuine reasons to choose another location, although Lance has a few others he doesn't mention. It's not as though there's anything suspicious about Serah, or that he has any particular reason to be concerned about her motives, but he still can't quite support sending a bunch of kids to someone's house without knowing for absolutely sure that it's safe.]

( Hmm, all good points. She'll have to think about it. )

You might be right.

( And she'll have to look around too. )

But where...?

( Headtilt, her hand curled and resting against her lips thoughtfully. )

Near the housing would probably be most convenient in general, but that still leaves a pretty wide range of options. If you find a building or location that you like best but needs work, there would probably be people here willing to help with that too, especially for a good cause.

[Lance typically avoids that sort of work himself, but even he'd probably pitch in a little.]

( That's something she is noticing about this place, that since she got here everyone seems to bend over to help the new ones. It really is a lot like New Bodhum in that way. )

... Right.

( She's determined. This is going to happen. Once she finds a place. )
