[day 2 of the dust storm and...yo, Hadriel, Dr. Asshole needs a favor]
I don't suppose there's anyone who can give me a hand with something.
[he shifts the video from himself, past an enormous black flag tacked to his wall, to a gaping hole in the wall of his apartment. There's already a fine layer of dust collecting like drifting snow around the edges of the floor.]
My place took some damage in the Null battle. Fixing it wasn't exactly a priority until right about now, and I'm not exactly a carpenter.
If anyone can take care of this so I don't have to sleep in the hallway outside, that'd be great. In return I can use my ability to teleport you in and out, or anywhere else in the city.
[but Law, why can't you just find a new apartment? He has reasons, okay.]

No kidding? That's pretty cool. Are people born that way sometimes or... is it caused by something?
video;
[literally one of the easiest things to explain about his dumb world]
video;
[ Right. Okay. That's not actually the strangest thing she's ever heard. ]
I'm guessing they're not easy to get a hold of?
video;
No, they're very rare. Mine was worth five billion, according to the Marines.
[not counting the exchange rate, of course]
video;
[ You could be rich, Law! Rich!!! ]
video;
Law's face goes rather suddenly flat and dark, and he turns to just sort of edge into his kitchen so Seel can't overhear him (though to be fair there's a lot of hammering going on)]
...because I needed it to save my own life.
video;
Sounds like one of the best reasons to me, honestly. If I had been in your position, probably would've eaten it too.
Money means nothing if you're dead anyway.
video;
That's a concept a lot of people seem to have a problem with. That there's a lot you can't do when you're dead.
video;
You'd think it's pretty common sense, right? Maybe not. Especially not with the way death is treated like nothing in worlds like these.
video;
[granted, he's talked to one or two who have been to additional worlds besides this but...always good to have more info]
video;
Near the end, the power that resurrected people... ended up broken. If you died, you died.
video;
[other worlds are so weird. But Law nods, grateful for the information]
Either way, I don't take it lightly. Death may not be the worst thing to happen to a person, but it does put a fairly permanent end to any plans and dreams you have.
Re: video;
And agreed, dude. There might've been times when living didn't seem like something I wanted to do but... Glad I pulled through.
video;
[conveniently that's about when Seel asks for some help holding something to the wall...]
I gotta go see to these repairs. Later.
