Video 4 - Sewing Shop

[the video opens on Margaery sitting in the sewing shop, three half-finished garments behind her. she's smiling, although it doesn't quite meet her eyes. she's still haunted by her loss last month and while being a child was fun, it still doesn't erase her melancholy entirely]

Hello. I just wanted to let you know that the Sewing Shop is again open for business. I've come to a deal with Tranquility to acquire fabric. I'm also available to teach sewing to anyone who wishes to learn.

[she hesitates a moment]

And I wanted to--to apologize to anyone who had to deal with me as a child. I suppose I was rather. . . full of myself back then.

I would like to learn the basics, if you are still taking students.

I'd be delighted to teach you! It's a skill I feel that everyone, male and female, should learn.

I never had anyone to teach me. My brother thought my time better spent on other duties.

[ Learning about their noble history, for example, though his version was apparently greatly exaggerated. ]

Not even how to mend a tear in one of your gowns? Those other duties must have been pressing indeed.

[even Marg who grew up as the protégée of the Queen of Thorns learned how to sew]

[ What happened when her dress tore? She can hardly remember. Viserys would surely have been angry with her.

Her jaw tights, but it isn't quite discernible. ]

In any case, I think it about time that I learn.

You may come over now, if you have time? I have a few projects, but I had to--put them off after last month. They're nothing pressing, though.

I will, unless it would be more comfortable for you to teach me at home.

[ Well, in their shared living space. Nowhere has ever really been "home" for Dany. ]

I have more resources readily available here. I'd have to take a lot of things home with me were we to do it there.

[on some level, Highgarden will always be home to Margaery, but she's never going to be able to see it again]

Yes, you should bring your patience along with a general idea of what exactly you'd like to learn. Do you want to simply be able to mend seams or small tears or would you like to make entire garments?

I think that mending would be a good place to start. [ She has no idea how long it'll be before she can actually create something to wear. ]

So do I. Proper gowns and dresses are in short supply. We must do whatever we can to preserve what we have. [garments take a long time and a lot of effort to create]

Stop in anytime and we can get started.
