Greetings.

I am new to this city. I seek information on a number of things. I have been told that an individual that goes by the name of 'Arya' may be able to tell me more. But anyone else who is willing to part with information--on the city, on the supposed 'gods' that rule it, or any attempts to escape from it--well, it would be appreciated. If you require it, I will find some way to reciprocate, once I have gotten my bearings.

That is all. [He's tempted to ask about the presence of nonhumans in the city and how they are tolerated, but that strikes him as a bit too specific of a question. He's largely been in hiding since his arrival, both because his mission to earth mandated secrecy and because all previous attempts at contact had ended absolutely horribly for him. Glacius isn't feeling secure or trusting enough yet to give away what he really is, hence the text--it's hard to adjust his large fingers to the buttons and he rarely writes in common, but it doesn't give away his appearance or his voice. It's as impersonal as he can currently be. This will have to do for now.]

Well, I can tell you that the caves made the colosseum seem like a fun day out.

[He doesn't yet recognize that this is one of the humans he'd met earlier, given that he doesn't know the ID numbers or usernames of anyone's phones, and he can't hear her voice given the fact that they're conversing via text. The alien's tone sounds intrigued, however.] You have been there too? There seems to be a great number of monsters within, different from the one-eyed things in the colosseum. All intended to prevent our escape, I have no doubt.

Once or twice. [ more like 'every damn minute she can spare' but whatever. ]

I'd say at least I've got ammo now but those fuckers don't wanna stay dead. [ or there are just too many of them to stop ] If they wanna keep us here they're doing a damn good job.

For now, yes. If we are going to escape--and I assure you that is a priority for me--we're going to have to search elsewhere. In the meantime, at least you have proven yourself to be adept at surviving.

I'm flattered. [ If only text conveyed a dry tone tbh. ] You noticed anything else interesting?

In the caves? Only that they are truly labyrinthine, and seem to all connect to one another... and that they do not appear to lead anywhere but back into the city. I suppose one could try to dig a new tunnel, but that seems like it would be an exercise in frustration unless were were to get a good deal more people and equipment behind it.

At least I'm not the only one thinking that.

Anything else catch your eye?

Many things, though I am not sure how consequential they are. I have noticed that much of this city seems to have fallen into disrepair, which strikes me as curious. Given that all of us were apparently pulled through the 'Door', that raises plenty of questions. Was there another group that built this city, and if so, what happened to them?

Earthquake? Or the beasts just ate them too.

There are no gaping schisms or fractures in the ground that suggest such a natural disaster, and there are no signs of carnage in this city that point to such a slaughter, though I suppose they could have decomposed if enough time had passed. I worry that it may not be something so simple, however... if even the gods were dead at one point.

Preferred the simple explanations personally. Even if it don't explain why we're stuck here.

Isn't that just the way of things. Nothing can ever be simple or easy. Even in the world that I was pulled from, there were always needless complications... if I could see an end to it all I would.

Thought it was finally getting easier back home... so this happens.

The universe works in strange ways. All I know is that I'll never take simplicity for granted again. [He's always been one to appreciate peace and quiet, but after this, well... even the ice alien feels like he will have a newfound appreciation.]
