HEY EVERYONE! I HAD A REALLY GOOD IDEA! SO, HOPE NEEDS POWER, RIGHT? AND THERE USED TO BE LOTS OF HOPES ON THIS WORLD! SOME OF THEIR POWER IS STILL AROUND, SO IF WE CAN SCOOP IT UP AND GIVE IT TO OUR HOPE, I BET WE CAN FIX SOME OF THIS MESSED UP STUFF THAT HAPPENED. IF HE GETS SOME MORE POWER WE CAN BRING BACK SORROW FOR SURE, PLUS MAKING THE CITY MORE LIVABLE FOR YOU GUYS!

SO I'M GONNA MAKE SOME ORBS AND SOME COMPASSES. TRANQUILITY MADE SOME BIKES, TOO! GRAB A COMPASS AND IT'LL TAKE YOU TO A PLACE WITH A LOT OF HOPE ENERGY. TAKE ALONG AN ORB AND LEAVE IT THERE FOR A WEEK OR SO, AND IT SHOULD SUCK IT ALL UP. THEN BRING IT BACK AND WE'LL GET THE ENERGY TO HOPE! THIS IS WAY BETTER THAN WAITING FOR A REALLY LONG TIME FOR HIM TO RECOVER! IT'D BE SUPER GREAT IF YOU GUYS HELPED US OUT WITH THIS! :) PLUS IT MIGHT BE FUN TO GO EXPLORING, RIGHT?

I MEAN, IT'S KIND OF WEIRD SINCE IT'S SUCKING UP PARTS OF DEAD HOPES TO GIVE OUR HOPE MORE POWER, BUT IT'S NOT LIKE IT'S DOING ANYONE ELSE ANY GOOD. WE MIGHT AS WELL USE IT. SO WHAT DO YOU SAY? READY FOR AN ADVENTURE? :D

Regardless, I'm for exploring more of this world, anyway, so I suppose I'll get involved.

What we encountered in the cave... it's not the last we'll hear of them, is it? They're still out there, still at large. Still a threat.

Anyway... they have at least one point. No one wants their emotions manipulated. But... that's still no reason to turn against you in such a brutal way. Nor did they have reason to turn on us, but now that they have... now, it seems we have a mutual enemy in them.

You've no need to apologize. There are worse problems to have.

It certainly is a better way to exist than being one another's enemies all the time, and in the face of such a threat. I pledge my ultimate loyalty to another goddess, far removed from here... but I'm sure she wouldn't mind me allying with others, for now.

I’m glad to hear that. My Goddess is… important, to me. But perhaps in time, I’ll come to feel the same toward all of you. An alliance is a good start, anyway.

[My, how his opinion has changed. He still doesn’t like having his emotions manipulated, but… there’s more to it than that. The situation has turned out more complicated. He hates the Null enough now to like the gods better, as a result.]

If you could find some way to get what you need without manipulating our emotions, that would be helpful in ensuring that as well… but your assistance against the Null is still enough to earn you some respect.

THERE'S NO WAY TO DO THAT! :( YOUR EMOTIONS ARE WHAT GIVES US POWER. THERE ISN'T ANY REPLACEMENT FOR THAT. IT WOULD BE LIKE ASKING ALL OF YOU TO LIVE WITHOUT FOOD OR WATER.

That's truly unfortunate. And I don't suppose there's some easier way to harvest these emotions? Though... I suppose you'd have considered that already.

It's been a real hassle being brought here, as well, not to mention some of what we've been through. I realize that all of it isn't your fault directly, of course. Even so, it hasn't been easy on anyone.
