[There's a long scuffle after the post switches on. Some heavy breathing may or may not be involved, the shifting of fabric- blankets, maybe?- across skin. Unfortunately for any voyeurs out there, it's not the sound of anything uncouth happening, but rather the grunts and scrapes of a struggle.]

-shit. [Definitely Ronan's voice, slightly far off. The audio goes muffled as something wraps over the speaker, before the phone of sorts gets tossed up, closer to his face.]

Fuck's sake. [It's on and it's near enough that he can talk into it. That's all that really matters. On the other hand...]

Hello? Look- if anyone can just- fuckin-

[He grunts again, half frustrated, half embarrassed.]

If you know where we live, come- give me a hand or whatever. Parrish lost his fucking mind and I can't- [a long creak, of wood and leather straining against one another] -ow, fuck.

[It's hard to really know what to say here- he adores Adam and this new side of him is disconcerting, but at the same time, Ronan doesn't really know how scared he should even be in the first place. It's Adam, after all.]

Gotta say, I'm pretty uncomfortable being tied to a bed in general.

[Casually, lacking his usual bite.]

[He says calmly, as if it makes perfect sense to tie someone to a bed to prevent that.]

It's a lot more comfortable there than, say, the couch.

[He just sounds certain, like he knows he's doing exactly what he should.]

[He grumbles, twisting a little so he can talk at the phone a little louder- it puts a strain on his wrists, but that's fine.]

[He sounds certain of that, too.]

But life is unpredictable, and things can change, and - I don't want anything to happen to you.

[He laughs, softly.]

[It was very, very bad. Adam might be under the effect of the gods right now, but even if he wasn't, that still haunts him sometimes.]

I'm not going to let that happen again. You're safe where you are.

[He groans, shifting again, a little uncomfortable.]

But I was the only thing badass enough to kill me, remember? And I don't see any psycho twins or whatever running around here.

[He stops. Ronan didn't die then, but it was almost as awful.]

I'm just trying to look after him. I'm pretty sure that's my job... he's totally fine where he is. You know how much danger he gets himself into.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure tying up your significant other is totally going to keep him safe, especially if you end up hurt, or the gods decide to play their games. What happens when they turn you against him?

They haven't managed to turn me against him yet, and they never will. What am I supposed to do, just let him run around and get hurt, or get lost, or - something else? What if he doesn't come back?

You're supposed to trust him enough to let him make his own decisions on his safety. You and I both know he'll always come back to you.

But what if he can't? What if something happens and I lose him?

I don't want to be here without him.

It's not something you can control. Nothing could happen and you could still lose him. You going to such extremes, on the other hand, could damage your relationship with him.

Nobody wants to be here without the person they love but... It's not always our choice. It really isn't ever our choice. You have to... to learn to accept that.

[If Adam were in his right mind, he would agree - but then, if he were in his right mind, he would never have done this to begin with.]

I'm not going to accept that. I refuse to. We're going to stay together, no matter what happens in this shitty place. If that means I have to keep him safe at home, that's what I'm going to do.

The gods do like us to be convinced when it comes to stupid logic but, whatever. That won't save him. Hell, it won't even give him an ounce of real protection or safety.

But I guess we can't argue with currently batshit folks. No offense, Adam, I like you, but you're going to facehand the moment you come out of this.

If anyone can save him, it's me, and I'll do anything to make sure that happens. I'm sure on some level he understands. He knows how I feel about him.
